Huawei Nexus SD810 is a DEAL BREAKER for me

Well, this phone is now totally unusable, as far as the screen goes. It's all black, which means I can't see any icons or unlock it.

get the nexus 6 sending back the pure battery life not good as 6 for me, add that to lack of wireless charging just to much wrong, back to the nex 6 till huawei comes out or g4 pro

So the screen on my S3 went to crap just now. There's a purple spot on the left that's spread halfway down and blue, that really shows on white. I wanted to wait for the new Nexus, but am now in a bind. Do I wait, til mid October, or get a Moto Pure? I don't know about the battery though. Or maybe the Moto Nexus? Sigh...

If your country is anything like the UK you could get a different phone then, as long as it's not damaged in anyway, send it back for a full refund within 14 days of delivery. Honestly quite a lot of hassle though for such a short period of time. Probably not worth it.

I thought Nexus were being announced on 29th September? That's not much longer than a week.

I have the itch to pull the trigger on the Moto Nexus. I can get the 64 GB CW, a T-Mo SIM, screen protector and Trident Aegis case for $476. The battery on the Moto XPE is a worry, as well. Either that, or I just wait til the 6P is out. Argh, my only reason for waiting would be that if I got the 6P, I could more easily get the screen fixed if it's a Samsung Note 4 screen that Google is using. . I'd rather have the metal 6P for around the same price, but then I'd have to spend more for the other accessories. I'm torn, lol.

Seems expensive.....Amazon has the 64gb CW for $399. How much does that SP and case cost?

I play with my food

It would be foolish to buy a new phone after you've followed the 2015 Nexus rumours for so long.

8 days until the announcement. Then make a decision

lost my enthusiasm for the 6P once it became apparent google was going mainstream and playing safe with it. the N6 is awesome. no way i'd downgrade to a 5.7" unless the battery on the Huawei is ridiculous. the 6 has it's flaws, but I'll have no problem staying with it another year or more.
oh, and if you do end up pulling the trigger the Moto 6, you will get the blue black Trident, right? right??

I kinda feel the same way. Though I tell myself I'll just pick up a X Pure if the the 5X disappoints, I've been following the rumor mill very closely ever since Artem hinted at the Nexus 5 successor. Now I would feel as if I wasted my time/energy if I didn't pick it up. That being said, I don't think the 5X will disappoint.

I'm so optimistic that I believe the camera might be one of the best low-light shooters. Maybe even the best as of now.

I'm not camera savvy, but f/1.8 aperture paired with 13-megapixel Sony IMX278 sensor should offer great low-light performance.

What makes 6P mainstream and you issue with the 6p?

Yeah, I'm still leaning that way. One, for the 5.7" screen. If Google is using Note 4 stock for the screen, the 6P should be more easily repaired in my local shop, as opposed to the Moto Nexus. Two, for the bigger battery. I hope that it's optimized well. And three for the metal unibody. Even though the expanding battery issue in the Moto seems to be solved, I like to know I'm paying for quality in metal over plastic. I'm glad that Google is offering 128 GB of storage as an option, cause the 32 and 64 GB options could be priced well.

You also seem like a person who is passionate about having the latest and greatest from Google.

You get excited every time a new leak arises.

For the sake of 2 - 4 weeks, I think you will regret not at least waiting as you will likely be using your next chosen phone for the next 2 years.

Thanks, you're right in everything you said. I'll wait.

I'm late to this thread and the discussion has kind of moved on, but saying the 810 issue was "fixed" with the OnePlus Two is completely ignoring the massive clock speed reduction. Massive. It may not make a big difference in day to day tasks, but in speedtests and benchmarks, it does suffer compared to other higher clocked 810 devices.

True, the only devices where it is truly 'fixed' is Sony's Z5 range and the dual heatpipes. Evidence provided by the fact it can record 4K video for longer than any other flagship on the market - hence, no overheating, whilst keeping the stock Qualcomm recommended clocks :D

I'm pretty sure the S810 on Z5 will be fine but we need to wait and see.
Even if Sony markets the SoC at 2Ghz, their is no evidence that the governor will allow the phone to reach it (nor their is evidence that it can't).

The M9 is still marketed as a 2Ghz S810 but the phone throttle badly and, in fact, since it has been updated, except on benchmark, it use even lower frequency that the One+2 to prevent warming.

In fact, 4k videos are not that demanding for a S810 and a S808 or even a S805 are capable of recording 4K videos too. So even a downclocked S810 will have no problem at doing it too.

We have too remember that Samsung S4, Note 3 or HTC One M7 have all used this kind of trick to cheat benchmarks in the past for example.

I believe the Sony Z5 range are the only 810 powered smartphones equipped with dual heatpipes though? Correct me if I'm wrong please! So they should have a distinct advantage over everything that's come before?
