Huawei Selling the 6P Direct -- with Caveats

Asurion is typically more expensive because they allow claims for lost and stolen devices.

Moto Protect, Nexus Protect, and even Apple Care IIRC are cheaper, but are worthless if your device is lost or stolen, since they want your original device in order to fix or exchange.
Is Google protection plan for anytime you buy the 6p? For example if you where to buy February? I would never lose my device or get it stolen dropping it yes its possible.

I don't really care about Play Music. So $50 google credit or $38 cash.

Same here. I already have $26 in Play credits that I'm struggling to use. Google won't let me apply it toward the 6P, and there's not much music I want to buy.

Dang I was about to check if they did for Texas. Thanks for posting though.

I ended up buying mine direct from Huawei because of the financing. I can't just drop $600 in one chunk (and too impatient to save). I tried the financing thru Project Fi but didn't get approved.....the company Huawei uses must be a little more forgiving because they did. Just another option for others out there who might need/prefer to pay over time.

Wait they offer financing for the device? I was really thinking of going with the Moto X Pure for the finanacing (not that I need to, but it's 0% financing)

Project Fi will costs me more a month in the long run. I am still on the T-Mobile 70/unlimited plan.

Yea you just select the option at checkout and they do an instant credit check/approval. It's not 0% so the Moto deal is definitely better but for a 12-mo payment plan (they offer 3, 6 and 12) the interest comes out to an extra $100. But there's no prepayment penalty so you can pay it off earlier and save on the financing fees.

That's what I did as well. Have you received an estimated shipping date yet? I ordered on October 1st and have yet to receive anything or a reply from my email on October 2nd about it to them.

Anyone else go through them? I placed an order on the 1st, yet still shows processing. I emailed them as well to ask for an estimated shipping/arrival date. Have yet to hear anything and wondered if anyone else had done this and heard anything yet. I may just cancel it and grab it through Google in a month or so.

I have a 32gb from google and a 64gb from Huawei direct. Huawei shows processing for me too. Its still early in the month I am leaving both orders open and playing it by ear.

Only other reason I would consider buying directly from Huawei is last year I finally got my Nexus 6 directly from Motorola about 2 weeks after preorders went up in the Play Store and my Motorola device shipped before people who got their preorder in 2 weeks earlier with the play store.

Hopefully Google has their stuff together this year....

Motorola financing is funny.... I bought my Nexus 6 outright last year... Back in like June of this year they sent me a thing that I was preapproved for financing and a $3,000 credit limit.... WOW!!! Can't imagine ever needing that much credit towards Motorola Mobility????

Only what it says on the website...."early November"

Would be nice if they let you pick a lower amount if you don't want that much.

Yeah.... $1,000 is more than enough for personal credit with Motorola Mobility..... I ended up using the credit limit to buy two new Moto G's for my daughters just because it was no interest for 12 months... That still didn't eat up $550 and I bought the Moto replacement insurance too....

I am not a fan of credit and only use it sparingly. Not sure I want a 3,000 limit sitting out there not being used. Guess I will have to apply and see what they would give me.

I'm thinking I'll just buy direct from Huawei. You pay $89 for Nexus Protect, but it's not like they send you a free replacement. You have to pay that $79 deductible per accident. I don't need Play credit, and I'd rather keep the tax charge in my pocket. I'd be covered for a year by Huawei, and then should something happen, I'll take it to my local shop. Can someone convince me otherwise?

Same here. That said, if you don't need the phone for another month, you might wait to see if Google offers another and better discount after the current one expires, which will be at the start of the holiday shopping season.

Oh I agree.... I don't carry a balance on any card unless it has zero interest for X amount of time and I can't remember the last time I bought something for under $1,000 and paid over time.

I got my first bill from Moto Credit and paid 1/2 the bill already... I'll probably pay 1/2 again next billing period and then pay it all off the following month. And only because 0% interest is basically free use of their money at no expense to me...The only problem with credit like this is I can only see myself using it MAYBE once a year when a new phone comes out and they offer financing. The rest of the year it will just sit dormant....

Might give them a yell and lower it down.

I use credit sparingly, too, but it's not a bad thing to have a big chunk of unused credit out there because your score increases as a result.
