I bet Verizon put Carrier IQ on their version of the Galaxy Nexus

They may not use Carrier IQ specifically, but I would bet they are using some other similar service.

No, they don't. Verizon specifically said they don't use carrier iq or anything like it.

On Twitter, Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson wrote on Thursday: "We do not add Carrier IQ to our phones. We do not use other similar software on our devices."

Repeat after me: There is no privacy on digital networks. Phones are no exception.

This CarrierIQ thing has been blown out of proportion. ALL smartphones track everything because the government knows that they're the best data collectors on people ever made. If they want to perform digital forensics, the smartphone is pretty much THE ideal device. Locations and communications are logged.

Privacy died with the login. End of story.

Not really. There are still laws regarding keylogging and any other collection of real-time data. If the software has logged ANY information other than network usage and generic handset information, customers have the right to know and the issue deserves to be investigated. Considering that Carrier IQ has been very resistant to identifying the info collected, it stands to reason that what they claim the software does isn't the whole story.

You are contradicting yourself. You say not really to a post meaning your privacy is safe then say carrier IQ may not be giving the whole story with their data collection. Legal or not privacy is not safe via wireless network.

My E4GT tested 340. Its not like the government doesn't see and hear all anyway. :-0 Lol.
