I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

I didn't mean it that way at all. I was simply stating that you were not going to rest until this whole thing was sorted out. I'm leaving this pity party now...gonna' go fill out my survey and let them know how great they handled the upgrade!:-*

ROFLMAO! I'm resisting the urge to fill out the survey. I really am. I've resigned myself to the fact that it SHOULD (man I hope so) be here Wednesday and they were useless in getting me that information. Oh well. Their process blows. Hopefully the upgrade is good as others have said it is. Once this ordeal is behind me I'll be WAY happier. And then, maybe, I'll fill out their stupid survey and give them constructive criticism on things that, um, "might" be improved for the next group that subjects themselves to this process.

Motorola might have been better off exchanging the 3G Xooms for the 4G LTE version and upgrading the original ones and selling them as refurbs. They would have gotten incredible publicity for doing so and wouldn't have had the time crunch and logistical nightmare of shipping all those Xooms back and forth.

I mentioned that as a joke quite a few pages back. I'm starting to think it might have been a better option in reality. They just weren't prepared for this upgrade process. Odd since they had so long to prepare for it, but, that's the way it goes.

Shut up. I never said that Motorola was out to get me. Is there a reason you are lying and trying to pick a fight?

Pretty sure i answered your request previously with a quote from yourself with how Motorola was playing games with you and your Xoom.

Grab a beer somewhere and chill. It's as simple as stated: Motorola doesn't have a "Shipping: Pending" status in their RMA system, the company handling the upgrade won't ship (or can't) get FedEx to pick them up until it meets freight requirements and no matter how much you act out it won't get to you any faster.

You're prolly lucky you're dealing with a large company like Motorola actually. Lord knows if you acted like this in a restaurant what would be in your food when you got it :p Being a field service technician for a very large company, i know I'd leave you with a problem that'd be near impossible to find without a repair at your cost :) Careful they don't "lose" your Xoom till the next batch next time you call ;)

It just shows that they haven't got their stuff together. I honestly think they were "rushing" to meet their self imposed deadline of doing it in September. I really don't believe they were ready for this. Although, given the amount of time they've had to prepare, I really don't understand it at all. I have to say, I'm probably not ever going to buy another device that I have to ship out for some free upgrade. At the time I bought it I didn't overly care that much about LTE since I won't be getting it in my area until next year some time. However, I travel for vacation with my family every winter and the area we're going to has LTE so I figured it'd be nice to have it done before we go in a few months. Who knows, maybe I'll even get it back by then. ROFLMAO! :D J/K :) (I hope!)

I just won't buy something that's not finished anymore. I think that was my mistake from the beginning. I kind of expected things to not go that well, given what's happened over the past several months.

Having said that, I don't hate Motorola. I'm very impressed with the Bionic as a phone. It seems to do all the phone stuff much better than my IPhone. The clarity of calls and bluetooth are very superior.

I know it sucks to wait and, Motorola has not handled this in a good way but, they do seem to make good devices, hardware wise. When we finally do get our Xooms back, we will have a very nice device.
That's how I'm trying to look at it and, remain positive.

Look at it more like a Factory Recall and it makes a little more sense. Only companies I've seen that are prepared to suddenly receive all of their sold product back nearly at once are vehicle manufacturers.

And that's only because they've done it so many times. If Apple had asked people to send their iPhone 4s back instead of taking phone condoms as a workaround, they'd be in a similar situation too.

This pretty much sums up my opinion, as well. The Bionic is an AWESOME phone. I would have gone nuts without my Xoom if it weren't for the Bionic. And yes, I think once we get them back, the Xooms will be even better than before. I was already very pleased with it other than the minor annoyance of the browser crashing regularly. That's software that can be fixed. Hardware wise, the thing is a freaking tank. :D I'm just sad looking at the empty dock sitting next to me. I admit it! :D

That's a pretty good point. And I'd agree with that if this were May. :) The problem is they've had 6 to 7 months to prepare for this. I can't imagine we're talking about more than 100k devices. It's not like the Xoom sells nearly as much as that apple thingie. :D And I'll probably get flamed badly for saying this, but, I have to think that if this were apple in this position of having to recall, let's say, 100k iPads for whatever reason, that it would have been handled slightly different. It really shows the difference between a service oriented company like apple vs a hardware mfg'ing beast like Moto. Like others have said, maybe Google will straighten them out on that end. "Stop doing evil!!! :D" hehehehe. In the end, hopefully Moto learns from this experience and provides better service next time. For me, unless there really is a recall, there won't be a next time as I won't buy a product that requires me to send it in at some future point again. That's simply a personal lesson learned.

Given what happened with the iPhone 4 during AntennaGate i'm fairly sure whoever there that mentioned "Recall" got instantly demoted. It was an option and correctly abandoned to avoid something like this.

As was prolly exchanging our Xooms for newly manufactured LTE capable ones. Which would be financial suicide (double cost on every sold 3g Xoom to date). My expectation is to see the RMA website update with a tracking number tonight or tomorrow. Wed or Thu for delivery. Won't kill me if it doesn't because my realistic expectation has been 14 actual days from time i gave it to FedEx.

Afterall, Motorola never promised a specific time. "Approximate" means could take less. Could take more. Given the repeatedly mentioned possibility of them wiping it, i also expect them to turn it on when they were done and to fix anything else they found wrong too.

I'm going to wait until I get it back before I fill it out. However what's really starting to concern me is I'm seeing more and more forum posts from people like me who's was completed last Wed being told it won't ship until the 14th... means even their email they sent to me with "Early next week" was lying as Friday isn't exactly early in the week ;) I'm *hoping* it's just CSRs spouting off to get people off the phone and it will ship today or tomorrow.

Ah, yea, that's true. And given my wife's current experience with trying to order an iPhone 4s, I think I'm seeing the point quite well. My credit card was "declined" 3 times now and she's had to call every time. Apparently this is a known problem. She's going to be WAY more "nerd rage" than me if she has to go stand in line Friday morning. She was one of the first to pre-order last Friday and the fact that it keeps getting "declined" is a joke.

True enough. And again, I'm not unhappy with having to wait. I'm just unhappy with the lack of info. Once it's back in my hands I'll be fine. I just get nervous when I lose track of a very expensive piece of equipment. Their inconsistent info to me has not done much to calm my nerves.

LALALALALA. [fingers in ears]. I don't hear you! I'm going to try to stay SOMEWHAT "positive" here and hope they get them shipped out today or tomorrow. I'm really expecting tomorrow tbh. Which means Wednesday delivery.

If that's not Nerd-Rage, would it be Nerd-Denial :)

It does suck, and all of us should be treated better by Motorola. The device was $800. That is not cheap, especially when you consider the fact that price was with a two year contract.

That is why I hate them and will not purchase their products again.

Motorola signed for my Xoom this past Thursday at 9:35am from Fedex and I've been checking all weekend and try have yet to even put it into there RMA Tracking System so that I can see the status of my device...IT's not even showing as received . I called Friday and they keep giving me the run around. Saying they have put my device in escalation status to get it updated, and yet as of today, they have had it for 3 days, and I don't even know if they've even looked at it, let a loan replaced the 3G for 4G...!!! 5 days is coming in two days, WTH part of the Game is this... At this point I just want My Xoom back! I don't even care about this upgrade anymore... This is some straight up BS....:mad::mad:

Their customer disservice lies. They told me mine was sent back to me Friday 10/7/11. Today I'm being told there was a delay. I really have no idea if or when I will get it back.

Sorry. Yea, welcome to a thread that is not full of positive news, I'm afraid. Given the replies on the post on the main site, it looks like a lot of people are in the same boat. WTG Moto....very impressive. sigh.
