I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

I regret ever having purchased the thing. I do not like the games Motorola has played with me on the device and I do not like the fact that my Xoom has sat somewhere since October 5 all because Motorola hasn't seen fit to send me my device back. I wish I had purchased a Samsung, or some other tablet. They've had their devices 4G LTE for quite a bit longer now than Motorola. Motorola seems to be the one that simply can't get its act together regarding 4G LTE.

Same boat here. FedEx drove by this morning to add insult to injury. The other question I have...Monday's a holiday. Do they deliver then? It doesn't look like they've even shipped it yet, let alone Monday delivery. Really not impressed.
FedEx will provide normal pickup and delivery service on Monday (Columbus Day).

No info / update on "Track My RMA" for me: No Shipped Date and No Tracking Number. I'm hoping that it was shipped and I get it back on Monday. My XOOM was updated (processed) on 10/06/2011 so there's no reason I shouldn't have it back on Monday.

I can think of one great reason you might not have it back on Monday. That being Motorola not shipping it back. I know that mine doesn't have a new shipping/tracking number yet either. Mine was upgraded on the 5th. Motorola customer disservice claims that it went out on Friday. If yours wasn't put into the mail on Friday, you will not have it on Monday.

Isn't Motorola a wonderful company?

I've had mine back for a few days. Seems to run great! I'm getting the same speeds as my Bionic. Battery life is sufficient to last me more than a day. I'm happy with my upgrade.

That's the kind of information I was looking for. If that's the case, then, this is really good news. All we need now is for them to get them back to us. :)

Thanks for that. I forgot to post about it after I went and looked it up. As for getting it back Monday, I'd not hold my breath if I were you. Paul and I have had ours processed since 10/5 and we're still waiting for any word at all that it's been shipped. We're hoping on a wing and a prayer that it comes Monday. At this point, I really don't have a lot of confidence that'll happen. I HOPE so. But, confidence level is not high.

Hmmm, just got another interesting message which seems like an odd coincidence from Verizon today which may or may not be related. With today's date for the letter, but for the upgrade and shipping date (Thurs) for my Xoom it says (for my Xoom's "phone number"):

Is that the LTE being enabled on the account? Right now I only have an OG Droid so 3G there... waiting for the "Nexus". Any other Xoom upgrade people get this?

Which is good. But, if Motorola employees are off on Monday and our devices are sitting somewhere at the Motorola facility then those of us who have been waiting anxiously for our expensive devices to be returned to us will have to wait even longer. We won't see our devices before Wednesday if that is the case.

You really know how to kick us when we're down, don't you? :P :D LOL! You unfortunately have a good point. UGH.

I'm sorry. :( I'm really not trying to do that. That was something that just sort of dawned on me when I was checking the tracking again. I realized what an idiot I am. Motorola only works Monday through Friday. I'm not going to see any updates.

It's not your fault. I'm just giving you a hard time. :) But, unfortunately, you do make a valid point that if they hadn't shipped it on Friday, and no one's in the warehouse working on Monday, it won't be shipped out then, either. That's a depressing thought but a realistic one.

Here is the real kicker. Because, Monday wouldn't be considered a business day for them, they are still within the window they claimed we would have our devices sent back.

All I can do is laugh...it's better than the alternative. Technically, yes, they did say 6 *BUSINESS* days. :'(

At this point I've pretty much accepted that I'm probably not going to see mine until the middle of next week at the earliest. As much as I love cutting edge tech, it does make me second guess being an early adopter a bit... That being said the shipping delay is one issue, but what really concerns me is the shape it's in when it returns. I saw posts on another forum with people complaining of it being scratched up, and in some cases where the unit is pried apart you can see where it was forced open. At this point I just hope it comes back in the shape I sent it...

As soon as the competitors released their 4G LTE devices, Xoom was no longer cutting edge. It was a great idea, but Motorola screwed it up.

I have to agree. They really screwed up the launch of the Xoom badly. And I think it hurt Honeycomb tablets in general. Instead of being the "showcase" of Honeycomb it quickly became a running joke. At launch....no flash, no sd card support, no usb support, no LTE. All with promised "quick upgrades". As I've said in the past and continue to live by, never buy a device for promised future features. Buy it for what it does today. And that's what I did. However, the fact that it was an 800 dollar tablet should have provided some premium value for that price. What we got instead was an unfinished product that has never realized its full potential. It's a shame. Both Google and Moto play a part in the Xoom's failure in the market. While I still love my Xoom and use it daily, I can't honestly say it's been successful. Ah well. Buyer beware for next time. Early adopters always take the risks. Sometimes they pay off sometimes they don't.

Doubt very seriously Monday is a holiday for Motorola. It isn't for most businesses in the U.S. I damn sure don't get holiday pay or an extra day off.

And FedEx has normal pickup / delivery schedule

Motorola isn't doing the upgrade. It's a third party company. I read about it over at the Xoom Forum. Motorola contracted them to do the upgrade. Motorola has nothing to do with repairing or upgrading their devices.

On a side note, my recently upgraded 4G LTE Xoom receive an OTA system update this evening, but it's still 3.2.2.
