I have an EVO ...

My thoughts on Goggles not being preinstalled... FroYo is (I believe) trying to get away from fragmentation, therefore apps are going to become separate downloads. Putting it into ROM takes up space that isn't necessary and can be downloaded from the market just as easily.

but if you pre-load them on the phone - the customer will more easily discover them and you will get them "hooked" on Android/Google that much easier vs. leaving it up to them to discover and download your "Core" signature apps like Goggles, Voice, Maps, etc.

i agree with u Gekko.. went into sprint today.. my first time ever.. signed in.. and then just waited.. and waited.. atleast 5-6 employees there.. two customers being helped.. im after them.. and i ended up leaving without having any of my questions answered.. preordered at RS.. only 1 employee there.. best service ive had

OMG OMG OMG is this the REAL Keith Newman :D

Indeed, brat. If anyone ever doubted your reliability they should have just asked me :D

Proof.

Does anybody know if the stores will get demo units in before launch?

Corporate stores should already have an advocate phone, they should... smaller areas won't get one for every store.

I don't know if they will tether one to a display unit before the 4th but like I said, an advocate should let you play with theirs. They aren't doing this Pre style... smart if you ask me.

As far as I know, one store in my area already has 25 of them sitting in the back.

Resellers don't have advocate phones like they used to, but it depends on how they get their demo line.

I am buying it from BB because I have like $100 in reward zone points, plus I will get more points with that purchase.

Well the fact that there was 7 people at the Sprint store should be evidence that Sprint is doing good..... Most Sprint representatives are pretty good in my experience. Sprint, or any other carrier, can't help if there are a few sour apples in the bin, but Sprint has had much better customer service compared to the past and ,IMO, other carriers. Aurora, CO.

Oh I agree with you on that... but again, FroYo is the attempt at getting away from that. So what can be done is during the "First Time" set up (which I didn't get to do, so I am not sure if it wasn't done already) should include a link to the market for CORE signature Google apps. It's easy to integrate that... and it'll bring users to a place in the market that are only Goggle Apps.

So it sounds like there is no NDA on Evo since the launch party. Is there a 2 week usage period required before reviewers can blog post?

@Keith Newman Any gripes/complaints/niggles from your EVO hands-on? Anything that didn't feel right or could be better?

btw...love the Palmcast!

Thanks again to Doc and everyone else answering the questions. Pre owner here also and I WILL be getting the EVO June 4th. I'm still confused about Flash?? If it has flash then why won't it play flash videos from certain web sites??

Thanks,
AL in CAL

I'm wondering if the EVO messaging app is the same as the incredible. I loved the messaging app in the desire and even thou it is extremly simular to the incredible, I did NOT like the way they intergrated the voicemail to the messaging app on the incredible. Hope they did not follow this on the EVO. Can anyone that has the EVO answer this? Thanks.

also the incredible back is layered so the speaker phone is not affected when laid on its back. If you lay the evo on its back will there be a problem listening to the speaker phone?

Yeah, junky ones :P

Well, actually I think Seidio makes a 1750 mah one with no need for an extended cover.

I love ordering my stuff through the SPE stores, it's always quick shipping for me. (No, I don't work for the company either... so this isn't some shill either).

Keith, two questions.

1) Are you 100% sure the battery from the Hero works with the Evo?

2) Does the hero have a 1350 mAh or a 1500 mAh battery?

Yes. But much slower. I don't think it would be worth it.
It wouldn't be any slower than my aircard running on 3g would it? If so, why? I wanna get rid of my aircard when I get the EVO & save $30 a month. Well, with the $10 4g fee, I would save $20.
