I LOVE my Nexus (sarcasm) - complaint thread

Re: I LOVE my Nexus

Thank you for wasting my time with this. I have 0 issues with mine . Best phone I've ever owned. Go get your self a phone with a UI on it and then complain about that. I'm sick if people like you putting up stupid thread. I wonder why I even come to this forum. Rootzwikki doesn't have stupid threads. Good buy

Cool. Don't forget your ball.

List a series of problems ALL Verizon LTE phones seem to have.
Blame the one you're using
Profit?

I have had the TB, the Rezound, and the Nexus. The Nexus is by far the best phone. All LTE issues are equal, but this has the benefit of ICS. Period.

The bottom line is that folks can complain all they want, this is simply the best phone available. Ipso Facto, they could be complaining even more with a different phone.

This. Please name me a phone that doesn't have issues, OP, and then we can talk. As already mentioned, even phones on outdated software that is GB has issues. Your expectations were too high and you're sour. Some folks are never happy. Especially the ones saying they're on their 3rd Nexus. Seriously?

Ok, so, here's my question. You bought a Nexus. You bought it knowing it was a new piece of hardware with a new software platform (it's been said by Google engineers that the leap from 2.3 to 4 is just as big as the leap from 1.5 to 2.2), but let's ignore that just for a minute. You bought a phone and have multiple issues with it. What *good* is it doing you to come into these forums, or any forums for that matter, just to whine and complain about it? It would have likely taken you less time to package the thing up and drive over to Verizon, and exchange it for something you like, rather than come up with this witty thread, no? And by the end of your forum post, I bet you were just as unhappy with it as you were before you posted it. Why not go and exchange it and be happy instead of wasting your time by posting about how horrible your experience was?

Look, forums including this one are a place to go and get help when you are having issues. We have an awesome community here that could provide you with help or workaround for your issues. But there are two ways to go about posting those issues. You either A. post them in a whiney sarcastic diatribe, showing how unhappy you are with the device while exhibiting no desire to make your user experience better, or B. post those issues in a thoughtful and calm manner, listing any steps you know of to reproduce your issues, and asking those of us who have had and successfully solved or worked around those issues to provide some help.

Unfortunately, you chose option A. You chose it because you wish to make it known how unhappy you are, while also backhandedly bashing us for enjoying our devices by being sarcastic because you felt the need to try and be witty. Of course you're going to be flamed for a post like that. Of course nobody is going to want to help you and offer you possible workaround until Google can get the major issues patched...because you really make it seem like you don't want help and just want to be miserable.

Folks, I understand if you absolutely hate this device, but threads like this don't do anything to help you, they don't provide anything to us, and they certainly don't put you in the good graces of people who CAN help you. They do nothing for everyone. Everyone loses.

I really wish that people who have major issues either constructively reach out for help in solving those issues, or just go and exchange their devices. This way, everyone is happy. You're happy that you have a new device. We're happy that we don't have to see threads like this clog up the place. Everyone moves on and the world keeps spinning.

Yeesh.

So help the op with his issues. Give him good fixes for his problems. Don't just say "an update is coming". Yes an update is coming, but you have no clue what it will fix, and or break. If you have inside knowledge on what Google is working on, please share it.

Perhaps the op's sarcasm was a response to the douchy treatment one gets when they share their negative experience with this device. Maybe he is tired of being told his problems are nothing more than being a noob who doesn't understand what possessing a developer phone means.

Who knew a developer phone was code for "broken ass phone".

We don't really know what any updates really cover. Why should GNbe any different?

The above doesn't really help either.

It's doesn't. The vast majority of people who responded to the poll in this forum are happy with the phone. Early on even your Charge had its fair share of problems.

Please show us where he asked for help resolving issues in the op.

He didn't. It was suggested by another that he should seek help instead of whining. His concerns are mentioned. Where's the help?

I agree with all you said. I believe there are real issues with the Nexus. Real hardware issues. No one knows if Google can fix Samsung's sloppy work. We can hope, but that's all.

The funny thing is most of you whiners were on here demanding Verizon release the phone. They clearly were holding it back due to manufacturing problems.

From what I have seen and experienced, those who are genuinely interested in being helped they generally are.

All of which isn't exclusive to this particular phone.

Re: I LOVE my Nexus

Sounds to me like a few of you either got stuck with bad hardware or a bad firmware flash. I've had none of the issues mentioned, but I know it happens with all manufacturers. I'd just get it swapped for a new device if I were you.

There's some help on page 3, actually. OP made a response an hour later that did not acknowledge it.

Lol. I'd like to see your proof to back up your comment.

No. But it is very common with every Samsung phone.

Then you haven't kept up with Motorola phones. Everyone of the 4G LTE has experienced has experienced their fair share of problems. For whatever reason you do not seem to want accept that fact.

The proof is rather simple just look at the threads and comments leading up to the release of the phone and some of the bugs after its release.

I am well aware of the bugs that come with every new phone. I am also very comfortable with my purchases when I make them.

What I don't do is rag on someone and label them a whiner when their experience differs from mine.

I don't understand why people dismiss the complaints, do you go to a restaurant and get a crappy meal that you payed for and decide not to complain about it? If no one complained about the flaws and defects of a product, new or old the company will never improve the product.

Do you want google to go through samsung again for a nexus2 with no improvements to the radio or try to make the battery life something that places their phone above the rest? Maybe with no complaints about the camera, why bother changing that? Oh but "it's a developers phone" so no one has the right to complain about a phone they paid for.

I don't know how the Galaxy Nexus uses crappy hardware. Compared to my phone before (HTC Thunderbolt), I will take this phone any day in terms of the hardware, feel and look. It's lighter and I've dropped it a couple of times already and it shows no scratches or dings. I've dropped the TBolt a couple of times and you can see chips on the edges of the glass, my kickstand coating peeled completely and the phone got super hot when on LTE chewing data up (my GNex doesn't get even close to the temps when doing heavy video or data use on 4G). And before anyone rags on the battery door for the GNex, I kinda like it that way. Never have issues with the door (and I swap batteries out a lot). Just my opinion I guess. Everyone has different tastes in what they like, and I am totally okay with everyone having their opinions. :)
