I wanna know your opinions about the notch.

Not really.

I'm a "default" kind of guy and even if I ended up with a notched phone and wasn't 100% stoked with it, I'd still likely avoid using what I felt was a hack to hide it.

On the other hand, if there was another model with a screen that was physically unnotched, I would go with that one over a notched screen with zero hesitation.

OK... I had a 2XL and I prefer the 3XL look better than a full bezel. All things being equal I would choose notch. If they could imbed cameras and speakers into the screen that would be a different story.

I saw the Pixel 3XL in the Verizon store today when I went in for another issue, and I was surprised at how good looking it was (after reading all of the bellyacheing on the forums)!! The bottom bezel wasn't all that large, nor was the notch all that obnoxious ... I was floored by how nice looking it was! Of course, it would have been better looking with no notch or bottom bezel, but then you wouldn't have speakers or cameras ... so take your pick. I'm sure that within the next couple of years they will be able to work around the camera and speaker "problems", but until then this, phone looks fine! I was disappointed that they didn't have the Not Pink phone in stock to look at ... I really wanted to see that color! Then again, I didn't want to really like it ... I still need to pay off one more year of my P2 ...

I frankly don't see how phones are going to not have either a bezel, or notch. The only other option is some kind of pop-out selfie camera (good luck waterproofing that), unless they can make the display see-through so the camera can be literally behind the screen. Complaining about a notch to me is the same as "ugh, they gave me more screen in the corners of my phone that I can turn off". If you complain about notches, you'd better not complain about bezels. Granted, the phones that have the tiny teardrop notch look better, but it's just not an issue at all in my mind.

Newbie here, but picked up the Pixel 3 XL and needed a place to learn more about it.

RE: the notch - This is the first phone I've owned with one and I don't mind it a bit. I like the way all the notifications are tucked up on either side of it and the rest of the screen is clear real estate. Coming from an S8 I'm glad I went with this one.

After seeing all the leaks about the notch I was sure that I wouldn't buy the P3. However after checking it out in person my mind was changed. It just didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

I think something might be wrong with your S6 (or your vision) if you're seeing a notch.

I think you can still make a phone with minimum bezel without a notch and still have a great screen to body ratio. Just look at the note 9. Still have stereo speakers and big screen with little bezel. The 3 XL can definitely copy some of that.

I personally isn't a big fan of the notch. That's why I got a regular 3. Yeah to each of his own.

I love this phone but the notch sucks. it's a bandwagon notch. it has zero reason for existing.

the iPhone notch makes sense. almost bezelless display (save for the notch) and the notch houses face id, which is amazing.

not saying the iPhone notch is better looking, because it isn't. however, its existence is at least justified. the pixel 3 XL's isn't. the pixel 3 has the exact specs and is a much better looking phone. I hate how we have a notch and a huge bottom chin.
