ICS 4.0.4 leak

Too numerous to list. Search for bionic 4.0.4 and find some screen shots. It really is quite the transformation of our phone.

Check out the release notes for the razr ics release. What you see there is identical to what we're getting as moto has unified the releases across the phones with similar hardware (d4 bionic razr).

Anyone look at the webdock? Just wondering if it has changed, I sure hope so. Also, what are your first impressions?

Any reviews/previews of Webtop on the Bionic yet?

Baseband unknown is bad. NOT good. :) As for webtop it's webtop 3.0. I don't use it myself but apparently those that do are LOVING it.

:D
P3Droid came across a leaked build of ICS for the Bionic and says it runs well. Has anyone else flashed it yet? It must be flashed from stock .905 and stock recovery.

never heard of it...

I want to give it a try when I get back home...been river rafting for the past couple days. I'll have to see how I feel, since I may not be keeping this phone, my Mom wants it.

Oh sure, put on a jacked up leak and give it to Mommy! Not going for son of the year this year, are we?

;)

I just read this about the RAZR ICS upgrade. Are we getting this too?

As a Global Ready device, customers with the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX will be able to have voice and data service in more than 220 countries, when subscribed to an international plan.

The transformation to ICS is pretty great. The best walkthrough I've seen has been the original post on Droid Hive. There are some minor issues but that's to be expected with a leaked build. We get bumped to webtop 3.0 but it's been FCing on me (it sounds like swapping out the launcher fixes it but I like the stock ICS launcher). I've been happy with it so far.

Installed today, love it! Runs great, no bugs yet. It should hold me over until my GSIII gets here!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is it possible to install the leak using safestrap? I'm assuming no, but I was hoping it's possible.

Negative on safestrap. You have to be on stock 905. Rooted is ok. Super stable and smooth. Much better than any current ICS ROM, plus everything works. Ran both leaks and the second definitely plays a lot better with webtop. Battery life is a little iffy, but that may be because I'm constantly on it lol. Voodoo works like a charm for those if you who want to keep root

I just watched DMX's video on rooting the ICS leak and the Baseband field looks to have the correct info.

Ah. If Webtop's a bit wonky right now, I'm not going to do the install just yet.

Why is this bad? I am new to all of this, and there are a few things that are still unclear to me. I waited to root until the beginning of the year, and read multiple posts for about a month prior to doing it. I am feenin' for something new, and am desperate for ICS. I have never flashed a ROM, and don't know exactly everything I would need. I believe I know the risks (bricking phone, void warranty), but still want to explore. Any suggestions or must have's for this process to safe guard? I believe I will need clockwork mod bionic bootstrap and ROM manager. Should I opt for premium? Why/ why not? If I want to get back on track with the OTA updates, can I to revert back to GB 905 to do so? (Is that enough questions at once, cause if not I have more)

ROM Manager while awesome is not necessary here for this. What I said was bad is having the baseband show as unknown in the about phone screen. That generally indicates an issue with the radio and, as I said, is bad. :) If you're ready to jump in, I'd suggest doing a lot of reading first.

-ClockWork Recovery and how to make/restore nandroid backups
-Different root methods...stay away from forever root as it won't help here
-Voodoo Root Keeper
-FXZ 902 files
-RSD Lite 5.7
-Latest motorola drivers
-Android recovery and how to flash updates from your sd card

These are the topics I suggest learning about. It's a lot of reading, but, the information will make you far more informed about what work is necessary to get you to where you want to go. Good luck! (Note, you can certainly jump in without all that knowledge....and learn it as you go. That's a more difficult, but, still quite possible, road.)

Thank you. Leaning toward jumping head first, but can I get back on track with OTA's if I update to this or will I be stuck and have to wait for a work around to be posted in the future?

You can get back on the OTA path by using the 902 FXZ and RSD Lite 5.7 with the latest Moto drivers. :) And I guarantee you WILL need to do this at some point as new leaks are released. But for now, if you're stock 905 and feel like jumping head first, drop the update on your SD card, boot into recovery (power off, hold volume up and down while holding the power button, volume down to recovery, volume up to select it, when the ! comes up, hit volume up and down at the same time to bring up the recovery menu), then select the update from zip file option, select the update file on your SD card, sit back, have a drink, and watch the magic. Welcome to ICS. :D
