ICS in June!

Well that's what they told us anyways. I guess sprint lied. June has come and gone and I'm not happy that we didn't get ics in the time frame they said. Oh well nothing we can really do except wait.

I think in the mean time while it comes ima use go launcher as my home..iphone stype . I hate iphone, but i like the look.. :P

So anybody else noticed Verizon did the right thing and pushed out ics for Droid razr to postpaid customers in the us before rolling it out to international customers which they did today. I know some well say htc rolled out update to international customers last week not Sprint but that's a mute point to me.

I'm not one to ever moan and grone about updates but this is absurd considering Ics is nearly outdated seeing as how jellybean is almost here.

Just talked to Grant K a Sprint online chat Agent. Inquiring about the ICS update.

Grant K.: Thank you for your patience, I will have the information shortly.
Grant K.: Thank you for waiting.
Grant K.: I would like to inform you that we don't have any released date for ICS for HTC EVO 3D.
You: you regret to inform me, not like
You: either way that is too bad
You: every Evo3D in the world has ICS except Sprint
You: trying to sell more Evo4GLTEs first?
Grant K.: I can understand your frustration about, but as of now, we don't have such updated information, this is the reason, I am not able to provide you with, also I am not able to comment on that, as I don't want to make wrong expectation with it.
You: so is the June-July timeframe no longer in effect? August?
Grant K.: I am not able to comment on that. if there would be any updated information in future, you can see this by visiting www.sprint.com/phones
You: ok thanks

So nothing yet as usual.

You think a CSR has answers about Sprint's ICS release schedule? The guy is just doing his job, take your frustrations out on someone else. Better yet, don't buy a HTC device the next time you have money burning a hole in your pocket. Things will never change. They have almost no incentive to update this phone because no one bought it. And because people always by the latest and greatest, it'll likely be the same in the future.

A forum is the place to vent frustrations. You have a vic mackey attitude, He isn't s member of the Strike Team lol. He spent his hard earned money, if he's not happy he can complain. This is America, not Europe middle east or Africa who strangely enough has ics. Everybody needs to calm down. In the end were all customers. Not to sound like a lame but when did this forum get so snobby and stop being about discussing and starting

I'm all for complaining, but snarky and sarcatic remarks to CSRs just make enthusiasts look bad.

Completely agree, bottom line is don't berate a CSR making $9/hour for doing their job. That's called being a jerk.

I am also frustrated by the lack of ICS, considering when I bought the phone in November the sales reps said it would be pushed out early January, and one of HTC's selling points was their superior support over Samsung (at that time anyway). I will definately take this into consideration for my next phone, and I will complain about Sprint and HTC on forums, but I'm not going to call Sprint service or go to a store and b!tch to people who can't do a thing about it.

Agreed, but when they lie to you, it's hard not to get upset. I had a rep tell me that it was already available. When I checked and it wasn't available, and asked for a supervisor, she hung up on me. That's what gets people mad.

Like said above. Don't expect ANY relaible information regarding major OS updates from CSRs. They are doing a job and getting pay. They know no more than you or I do, how could they?

I used to work for alltel a while ago (up until 2007) and back then I was at $13. Started at $11. TRUST ME THERE IS NOT A CELL PHONE CARRIER WHO STARTS AT $9 A HR UNLESS YOU WORK IN A STORE AND GET A VERY NICE COMMISSION. Like I said that was alltel and a while ago. Csr's do care and I doubt there informed about updates. You guys ask have valid points. This is how I look at it. No one works for me, no one pays my sprint bill for me, no one has a right to decide how I talk to sprint. That's just my opinion not directed at anyone. Face it guys, some people are beyond frustrated, others couldn't care less. Who are we to judge either side

I don't blame the reps that answer the phone. I just wish Sprint would inform people a time frame like HTC. Instead of "I don't know" as a answer how about "HTC has told us the June- July time frame". Simple.
I think the fact that ICS is out on the overseas EVO 3D and the EVO V 4G on Virgin Mobile is ticking people off. This is why I am really considering the Galaxy Nexus over the Galaxy S III just because of updates.

Well everyone I am now downloading the Android 4.0 update with Sense 3.6 as I speak (well type). Keep in mind I live in Canada and am with Rogers so I suggest everyone try manual checking for an update on your 3VO.

Congratulations!

Unfortunately, Sprint is still screwing us here.

Thanks! :D It just finished a minute ago and I'm already really liking the changes so far.

Sorry to hear about that though. :( Hopefully you guys get it soon!

Please post a quick review and so forth if you can Thanks.

Overall I like it.

Pros:
-Looks nice, sleek, smooth, the new font looks cool
-Battery life APPEARS to be improved but i'd have to do alot more testing to determine that for sure
-The camera is definitely better though i never really had a problem with it in the first place, ICS adds a few new features too (for both the camera and video)

Cons:
-Few new bloatware apps but who's really surprised?
-all the apps show a "Please Wait" window for a minute the first time you use them but after that they work as they did before
-overall ICS doesn't really bring anything completely new to your phone after you upgrade so don't expect to have your jaw drop but you should be very pleased with teh small improvements
-face lock or whatever it's called is still as much a gimmick as it was on paper. i haven't used it myself but apparently it has some obvious faults (apparently it can be unlocked by using a picture of your face or when wearing sunglasses or doesn't work when your face is slightly angled)

That's the most basic review i can make, but it's best if you all try it out for yourselves. Or just ask me any questions you may have and I'll try to answer them.

Well I guess we could look at this way, we're next lol. We just don't know when. Way to go sprint!

There is a guy with an email response that says that all ics eligible devices will be updated by the end of august. Take it with the grain of salt i do, but i feel your pain. We have been waiting with the Rezound forever
