ICS will roll out June 27, 28, 29 depending on your location

This isn't a good analogy. You bought a new phone and you have the new phone in your hand. You are driving your car. You just don't have the liquid-cooled leather seats you were waiting for. Your car is still the best in the business, gets the best gas mileage in the industry, has great visibility and acceleration, you just don't have your precious liquid-cooled leather seats.

And you complain. You hold one of the best phones in the industry, a phone that people with ICS have been willingly switching to the terrible, ancient Gingerbread just to get our hardware, and your only complaint is that you don't have the patience to wait for the end of Q2. Patience is a virtue, and soon, it will pay off tenfold.

EDIT: On second thought though, maybe ICS is your car. Maybe that's the only thing that really matters. In which case, you could have easily put your Razr up on eBay, there are plenty of takers, and bought yourself a Galaxy Nexus. But lets face it, you'll be losing a lot in the hardware department, just to get a shiny new interface.

I have liquid cooled leather seats on my car along with every other option available.... But still no ICS like i was promised... Lmao

I took my MAXX to the local VZW corporate store on Wednesday because it wouldn't hold a charge, and the replacement is on its way to my house as I write this... I wonder if it'll come preloaded with ICS?!?

djrakoski, djrakowski! Wake up, wake up! Oh good, you're up. You were having some weird dream about ICS being preloaded on 2011 devices.

You're implying anyone here is angry. People need to stop jumping to conclusions and throwing the word "entitlement" every time someone wants better service. I didn't know there was a Motorola Defense Force out there. I figured they retired when the whole "we'll unlock bootloaders by the end of this year...just kidding!" thing died down. They expect my money and commitment to their products, and they have it, but this is what I would like in return.
Anyway, I feel sorry for Bionic owners, and I do feel like they were left out in the cold. But everyone who reads up on Android knew the phone was a dud before it even launched.

No where in my post did I use the word "entitlement".

Seriously, I'm trying to help you out so you can avoid costly mistakes. I'll try again just because I'm a good guy, listen carefully. If it's not in writing, it's not guaranteed. I know you want to believe otherwise, but you're only setting yourself up for grief. It's one thing to expect something back other than the product you bought, it's another thing to come up with some "pie in the sky" ideas and believe that they're guaranteed.

And calling the Bionic a "dud" only puts your lack of knowledge on display.

1 . I have a phone that works 100%
2. I have no desire to repeat the disastrous upgrades of the Droid X.

I'm fine with delays.

SO right with this!!

My DX was great from launch date until 2.3 totally ruined the device.

Another great post.

"A rep told me that this was going to get ICS in two weeks. It's been six months. Where's my Ice Cream Sandwich???"

Motorola and Verizon have done a great job tracking the status of their ICS upgrades. They've been clear and up front.

If you think about Honeycomb and ICS and how different they are from Gingerbread, you'd realize that this kind of stuff takes time and resources. It's not as simple as you'd like it to be.

Major bug fixes and security updates are really the only type of updates one should be worried about.

That said, looking forward to trying out Blur Cream Sandwich. The videos Motorola posted look great. Webtop 3.0 is going to make my lapdock so much more useable. And I've got T-Mobile and AT&T SIMs here to see if Verizon's disabled US GSM carriers.

Thanks you RAZR owners for being our guinea pigs. :p

OK, my warranty-replacement RAZR MAXX just arrived... only it's an iPhone 4S. So now I have to wait 'til Monday, 'cause they don't ship on weekends.

Way to go, VZW cust. service!

(but my ICS update should be ready by then, right?)

Wow sorry ya have to wait, but ya gotta admit it's funny.

I could see mixing up and sending you a regular Razr, but an iphone?

I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2.

In fairness to VZW, I should tell the whole story:

When I realized that my MAXX was dead, I re-activated my "old" iPhone 4S with the intention of using it until a replacement arrived. So when I went to the store, the iPhone was active on my account, and the CSR probably selected that for replacement instead of my MAXX. So it's understandable, I suppose!

Except the phone has not even been out for 6 months yet.....

Although I deleted the rest of your post, it was a great post. I personally have not gotten worried too much waiting for ICS. I like the phone I have in my hand. I have liked it from day 1, and really, when ICS arrives, my user experience will most likely not change one bit (since, to me, it is pretty clear I do not use the Android OS to the full experience since I do not get excited by the additions with each version, but that is a different story).

Now we know it is sometime in the next 8 days

I just hope that I do not have any problems with the upgrade. I have never run into a problem with any version upgrade, even when I had the Droid X, so hopefully it remains that way

so when it comes out does it matter what version your on before you install ICS? I just flashed a GB rom, figured if the update is coming soon i might as well try out a new rom :P just wondering if i have to sbf back to a certain stock version or if i can just update from my current rom. Also right now I cant just get an OTA update from the rom im running which is Eclipse (pretty solid rom) it doesn't allow me to get OTA, so when it does come out can I just download it and throw it on my SD and flash it through recovery? Any details much appreciated :)

You'll probably need to be on the latest stock version.

is it out yet on the west coast? I heard some people on the east coast already got it. If so can someone upload the update?
