If 32GB Nexus 7 is released, what about us 16GB Nexus users?

You're not going to get anything, sorry. This is the way the world of electronics works, once you buy something there is always a better version around the corner.

Nevermind around the corner. It's usually just a few houses down. That's the way technology works.

They should give us 16 GB of FREE space on Google Drive, assuming we get only a few guys free already. I don't know how it works.

I don't expect or deserve any "compensation" from Google. I'm just happy that they're releasing a new model that better suits my needs. If they throw some freebies my way, so much the better. I can understand why some people feel burned, but it's an attitude that will only lead to unhappiness in the fast moving mobile sector.

I suppose we should now get ready for preorders followed by these same folks whining that someone walked into a store and got theirs before their preorder arrived.

... You also got 10 dollars loaded up with Google Wallet to use anywhere there's a PayPass machine....
I did? I ... um ... nope, I don't see that. Must've been an early launch thing. ;)

I can't complain. I got $50 because I bought an 8GB tablet, played with it, realized 8GB wasn't enough for a big game or two, and podcasts, returned it, bought a 16GB tablet. Then bought another 8GB tablet for my daughter so she got $25 on her Play Store account. I'm probably no better than those wanting a rebate for having bought an early model at X price.

why is everyone so afraid of something new coming out?
afraid enough to believe ridiculous rumors...most of which make no sense when you take into consideration the cost of actually producing the item....
if youre so afraid of new things coming out, switch to apple products.
they release their stuff on a schedule like freakin clockwork.....or at least they used to....

Yeah, it's TOTALLY RIDICULOUS to expect to have your preorder shipped within a week of the thing being available retail.

I'll be getting a 32GB when it hits no matter the price. I'd easily pay $300 for it, no question. My 16GB would be relegated to simple duty as a web browser, music/video player and picture viewer. My new unit would be my powerhouse machine for work.

If the 32 GB device is real I'll sell my current 16 GB to a friend and buy the 32

I actually bought a 16GB last Friday, fully knowing the 32GB is coming soon.

I honestly don't care about the extra 16GB (yet).

If it ever comes a time that the 16GB aren't enough then I'll just sell it and get the 32GB.

I love how passionate and argumentative people get in threads like this.

I personally love my Nexus 7 16gb, if 32gb was available at launch then I would have bought it but 16gb seems like enough for me especially since all my music is on google music now anyway. That's not to say I didn't find it annoying that google decided to up storage so early on in the products life-cycle.

If the rumor is true that the new 32GB Nexus 7 is priced the same as the 16GB model, what do you think they will do about us? Will they give us a free upgrade or something? More realistically, a gift card?

They won't do anything... does Ford do something for Mustang owners when they release a new more powerful Mustang?

I'll take a free 5.0 :)

P.S. the 32 is real. Some lucky peeps are purchasing them (most likely by accidental release) from Staples. There are pictures here and receipt pictures on XDA.

I got the 16Gb version and to be honest I am more than happy anyway. My music is moving (slowly) over to Amazon Cloud Player and with Google Drive, Dropbox and Sky Drive, I have more than enough space. I rarely watch video, but I have enough room to pop the odd movie on it if and when I want it. It is wonderful machine and I love it. I have had all sorts of computing gadgets, from the Spectrum onwards and the Nexus 7 is proving to be my favourite.

I'm a little annoyed to say the least. I would rather have the larger storage... I don't think google owes anything though. I'm surprised it's coming so soon after the launch though. Google has pretty much cemented the next time they release anything, I'll pass.

I already ran out of 16GB, that is, because of the 2GB limit which will slow the entire unit down. If I sell it for $250, I'll lose $30 I paid for extra. Well, I guess that's how it is.

Or you could sell yours for ~$200 and spend $50 to double your storage ...

Really, this happens with most tech.. it's just a matter of how fast...

Another way to look at it: Google quickly realized that they needed to adjust their product offerings and responded very quickly which bodes well for their future competitiveness in the tablet space...

IMO they should have never released an 8gb device to begin with. At this day and age 8gb is a total joke. I would expect Google to do nothing for current 16 gb owners, it's just messed up that they release 32 gb model as few months after the nexus 7 went on sale for the same price of a 16gb.
