If Bionic is indeed cancelled, what's your next phone?

I did, but quickly tried to erase that part from my mind...

Sort of thinking if its truly a leak from Cosco, wouldnt they have been informed about a delay by this point???

Nope cause no ones been informed of anything. Probably most of Motorola doesnt even know, and only the R&D are, if rumors are true.

I know if i was only 20 days away from releasing a new product to my customers and the supplier had not told me that they are behind schedule and would not meet the original delivery date they would be in very hot water.

yea but alot of these big companies just assume release dates.

Kind of like how Bestbuy kept putting Thunderbolt release dates out there and being wrong, it was in many of their sunday papers, without any official words from verizon.

Bionic was suppose to release 5/12, same number of ram it has, 512DDR

coincidence? i think not.

Also i dunno this, but someone mentioned 5/15 or 5/12 was when the million dollar man turned into bionic? Someone explain this to me.

Actually - 5/10/1967 was the date of the ACTUAL plane crash - a Northrop M2-F2 - that was used in the opening credits sequence of the show "The Six Million Dollar man."

5/12 Is when the Six Million Dollar man spun off the TV show the Bionic Woman. Also if you read Panda's last blog "Where art though... Steve Austin", Steve Austin was the Six million dollar man's name in the tv series.

Ugh. I was all set to go get a Thunderbolt and just do the one year contract.

Yep you all are right, that ended yesterday. The person I spoke with at the store confirmed it. Which means I'm stuck for now.

Scratch that. 5/12/1976 is when an Episode first Aired Called The Jailing of Jaime. The plot of that particular show... "Jaime must prove her innocence after a top secret decoding device she thought she delivered ended up on the international market."

Sad that I actually looked this up but:

The Bionic Woman was "created" on a 2-part episode of "The Six Million Dollar man". The episodes originally aired on 3/16/1975 and 3/23/1975.

"The Six Million Dollar Man" (1974) - Episode list

And "The Bionic Woman" Series premiered as a mid-season replacement on 1/14/1976

"The Bionic Woman" (1976) - Episode list

Haha that sounds like it could be the bionic

LOL - does that mean that the Droid Bionic is not actually delayed, but instead is going to be sold in another country first starting on 5/12???

lol, who knows. My gut says May 12th may have been an original date they wanted to launch on, but is probably no longer the case...

Waiting for someone to drop some more good info our way.

I'd been waiting for the Bionic ever since it made its debut at CES. Once I heard the news of its demise, though, I sucked it up and picked up the Thunderbolt. And you know what? I'm so glad I did. It's an amazing phone and is honestly pretty underrated. It took me three devices and four and a half hours at the Verizon store but I finally got one that functions perfectly - and it was worth every second. So happy with my Thunderbolt. :D

I did the same thing. I love this phone. I still have 13 days to return it if some good bionic news is leaked, but I doubt I will. :D

I actually would have been okay with the Thunderbolt if I could have just got a one year contract with it. Wish it had occurred to me yesterday to get it. Tried calling Verizon to see if there was any way an exception could be made since the one year contracts had just ended, they have done random stuff for people in the past, but that was a no go.

I'm just trying to figure out what is coming out in the next few months that would keep me happy for two years. Unfortunately the dual core selection for Verizon seems very limited.

If the Bionic really is canceled " Which I Doubt Severely " I will hold on to this POS Storm 2 until the Quad cores come out that Nvidia announced. I have been preaching the Bionic to everyone I know and really hope this news is just a way to hype the Thunderbolt which seems to be working. Unlike everyone else I will not buy the Thunderbolt to hold me over.
