If true, are you still interested in this phone at $830?

As much as I wanted this device. the price tell me I can get equal or better for less money, and to me I rather money staying on me making me rich not some greedy company

I'm able to afford $830 but I think it's a bad idea for LG to launch it at that price (if it's true). They really need to re-establish themselves after the mediocre sales of their last few phones and this price puts them in the same ball park as too many of their competitors.

It depends on how you define better or equal, however this device and some others have no equal as they have unique features. If we are talking about making phone calls and running apps you can spend less money, if you include the camera quality then you narrow the field s bit

At $830 I won't even consider the V20. No promotions can justify that pricing. With its less than stellar display, smaller albeit removable battery, lack of wireless charging, and lack of water resistance, no way should LG be charging so much.

It will be especially hard to justify when the price on the N7 enevitably will drop in a month or two. By then I expect with lower demand and slower production, the quality of the N7 will be more consistent, and worth buying.

I wish LG luck with the V20. At $830, they are going to need it.

If Google can ask $650 for a phone with a 5" 1080p display, then LG can ask $830 for a phone with a 5.7" QHD display plus a mini-me display above it. Especially since Google is now positioning itself as a new OEM in the marketplace and distancing its new hardware division from all those Nexus phones that Google didn't really have any control over in the first place.

So why value Google's OEM chops any more highly than LGs (who actually did make several of those phones that Google didn't make)?
In several more weeks, that theory will be tested if priced that high. I think it will fail at that price, but JMO.

The features that you mention don't necessarily all have a distinctive impact on manufacturing cost and not everyone wants or needs the features. I agree that the price seems a bit high but so is the price of all flagships. The N7, Pixel XL, Droid Z Force are all overpriced and there are reasons I won't buy any one of them but it has nothing to do with price. I left out the iPhone because their fan base will buy anything with the Apple logo.... Not that its a bad phone.... in fact it's a great phone but not my cup of tea. Now some will argue that some phones hold their value longer but I don't concern myself with things like resale value. If the V20 rolls out in the 800 dollar bracket I will think before I buy but most likely I will get it because it's the phone I want. If price was an issue I would look at much cheaper alternatives because there are a lot of adequate phones out there that get the job done.

To each their own and what they want and are willing to pay. You are right that none of these phones are worth $800. For that you can get a very good flat screen TV. There will always be some people who will buy this phone, but considering the competition, I doubt that there will be many buying this phone at this price. If the V10 didn't sell well at $700, what makes LG think the V20 is so much better that they should charge so much more? IMO, they are making a mistake. Certainly that's not the only marketing mistake they have made. Delaying its release and not initially announcing the price were others that come to mind.

830$ is just too much, it's better to get a pixel since pixel software exclusives

The v10 was around $700 on AT&T, $672 on Verizon and $599 on T-Mobile. I'm assuming the v20 will also be a good amount cheaper on T-Mobile, which works out well for me! So glad I left Verizon lol

Plus, when I purchased my V10 from TMO, they gave me an $80 instant rebate/discount. So the phone only set me back $519.

I need a phone and this one is really intriguing. There's a few out there I'm looking at but I'm going to wait until Black Friday and see who has the best deal and go from there.

That is a lot of money for me... But to compensate, I usually buy last year's flagships... So maybe I'll buy this a year from now. :P

I'm not interested in the V20. I think it's a a nice phone but it seems geared towards a specific group of users.

The V20 would be a sales failure at $820. Seems no way IMO they will price that high.

Its all about VALUE. People purchase laptops that are over $1,000 and no one bats and eye because there is no lack of value and the price is justified. So i don't think the actual price is the issue but that the phone does not provide enough value for the price. Maybe if it made me coffee, had a fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen, 256GB storage ect. Then people would be lining up :)

No seriously, I want this phone and $830 doesn't seem terrible at all for a primo phone! If it's cheaper all the better, but I'll probably still get it regardless.

I think that this is another failure in the works. Plus $800 phones are limited to Apple and formally Samsung (The Note 7 is a disaster for the company). There are just too many good options for far less money to spend $830 on a cellphone.

OnePlus, Moto, Alcatel, and many others and then add in last years Flagships that drop in price once the new phones arrive give the customers many great choices. I have not checked but what can you buy a LG G4 or V10 now? I am sure it is far less and if it isn't, it will be soon.

I am sure the LG V20 is a great phone, but wait 6 months and get it for half price (Look at the G5 for example).

If you want to really save money, Try the ZTE ZMAX PRO from Metro PCS for $99 or less and really see what you can get for $700 less than the V20. It is an incredible phone and you can have it unlocked for $4 and use it on all the networks. The days of the Flagship costing insane money is coming to an end. Apple tested the waters with the SE last year and it sold very well. Look for cheaper phones coming from them in the future.

But seriously, above $700 is going waay too much, especially considering price would get higher in my country because of taxes, import fees etc. Also still not released in europe. Only options left are LG G5 + Hi-Fi module / LG V10 for me. OR wait for G6 next year.

If it was waterproof while having removable battery, could be different story. But I'm not going to spend that much on a device that gets wrecked with slightest expostition to moisture (I've heard one LG V20 used for testing got broken like this).
