Last month I paid $33.35 for 1gb data. Local taxes will vary based on your state.

I live in Nevada one of the cheapest states for telecommunication taxes and I have A 50$ plan. My bill for a complete month is a total of 52.28$ - 2.28$ in total extra costs.

In Florida I have averaged $32.63 with ≈0.4 Gb each month. My Typical Invoice:
Fi Basics - $20.00 +
Data 1Gb - $10.00 +
DEVICE PROTECTION - $5.00 +
Taxes & Fees - $4.74 -
Less Unused Data - $7.37

ya i completely forgot about the device protection 5 bux :(

so mines probly gona be something like

$33.?? - talk txt an 1 g data
$5.00 - device protection
$38.??

I'm in NY, if I pay for the full 1 GB, my bill is a little over $35. It's generally been around $30 after the first month as I haven't used much more than 0.5 GB of data.

No device protection plan, I started on Fi 4 months after I got my device.

For Houston, it is $4.17 on the $30 plan. It breaks down like this:
Taxes & government surcharges
State Sales Tax
$1.38
City Sales Tax
$0.22
State 911 Tax
$0.56

Other fees
Universal Service Fund
$0.64
Federal Universal Service Fund
$1.24
Federal Regulatory Assessment Fee
$0.13

You may not have city and/or county sales tax depending on your location.

ok if i can find a way to have them remove the device protection i may be able to afford it :(

today i tried loggin into the project fi and found no way to remove those extra 5 bux :(

Get on a support chat and ask them to help out. The support folks are VERY patient and will generally do what they can to help, within their power.

ok i chated with support i can cancel device protection but after its activated how is it gona activate if they are gona charge my card for everything it will be declined and il be then charged 200 or so bux for the phone cuz the charge for the 30 or so bux will never go thru :( im kinda screwed now i dint think this thru

I'm not sure I understand your situation. Is your card limit so tight that $235 (and a little bit) will put it past the limit? I wouldn't put a limited-value card or one-time-use card on your Google account for billing as you will run the risk of not refreshing the balance for the service charges.

You should have 30 days before the phone has to be activated. On top of that, once you activate the phone, you shouldn't be charged for another 10 days after that. It seems like you should be able to clear enough of a balance on your phone to make the payment in the next month or so.

ya i just found that out so i activated it now i have 3 days to get some cash in the bank im doin that tomrow morning so thanks to every 1 for the help greatly appriciated needed it thnks

Just to let you know for future bills, Project Fi "bills" you on the date you activated (you'll get an email showing how much your are being credited/charged based on your previous month, and what you will be charged for the next month). It is always 10 days later that Google actually charges your card. Since you activated today, you will be billed on the 4th of each month and your card charged on the 14th.

i just examined the bill even thos i got the $30 bux plan im being charged $40 bux i contacted support again n got them to take off the 5 bux for device protection and the bills still to high next month im canceling this n goin back to metropcs :( project fi was a waste of time

Don't give up so quick. They have to charge taxes and fees, those are in addition to the base plan cost. Also, if you don't use all your data you will get a refund for the unused portion. My bill hasn't been over $30 since the first month. I'm generally near WiFi so I don't end up using a ton of data.

No offense but it sounds like Fi was a waste of time because you didn't understand the basics of billing.

As what mentioned, your first bill is going to be around $34 ($30 + about $4 in taxes, depending on where in Texas you live). Next month, you'll get a credit back (or be charged more) based on the data you use. If you use only 100GB, then next months bill will be $34 - 9, so $25. Of course, if you use 1.1 GB it will be $35 -- while it is more if you use more data than your plan gives you, they don't charge any overage fees -- just for the data you used.

My bills, all inclusive, have typically been, without device protection, $30 or less -- despite the $4.17 in taxes.
