If you were in my position what would you do?

Which should I go with?

Currently, I have an upgrade available on the first of December this year and have the Epic 4G. Would you wait for the Galaxy Nexus (it's bound to come to Sprint sooner or later, hopefully sooner), or just jump onto the E4GT?

i'm in sort of the similar situation. I have a borrowed palm pre and an upgrade available right now but not sure if i should wait for the galaxy nexus or just get the epic 4g touch. here's what i decided. but an epic 4g touch off contract from ebay/craigslist for ~$350, use it for a year or less, then upgrade to a new phone for $200. also sell the epic 4g touch on ebay for ~$200 (which is a low end estimate of what it'll sell for in a year or less).

your situation is a bit different as you already have a reasonable & adequate device, epic 4g, so you should definitely wait until a higher resolution display phone is available.

I mean, the reason why I want the Nexus is because it is a Nexus and that translates to quick updates and a plethora of ROMs to be used. That is probably the biggest interest. I remember that whole Hummingbird vs. Snapdragon thing when there was the Evo and the Epic and as stock, the Epic would run better but the Evo had way more support and you could not believe what devs can do with the resources they have. The Galaxy Nexus has 1280x720 screen, why would ask for more?

Okay, so what I'm probably gonna do is buy the E4GT at the end of December (although, I don't know if my cruise vacation during Christmas break will intervene and mean I will have to get it earlier, I want as much of an opportunity to get the Galaxy Nexus as I can get) and just wait and see if the Galaxy Nexus comes out within the return window.

My friend this phone is no faster in internet performance as the evo or epic ..this no upgrade..it may have a better processor but the difference is minimal and the battery life after a month will piss you off..don't believe the fan boys believe someone that just wants a working phone ...don't take my word for it google is you best friend

Before I knew about the Galaxy Nexus, I was all over this phone. I've seen countless videos of this phone and this thing is crazy smooth. The main reasons why I want the Galaxy Nexus over this phone is for the screen and the OS updates/ROM support which are probably the 2 biggest factors in a phone for me.

Well if you want updates this is not the phone for you..there are factually known issues with this phone and it is yet to be addressed after over a month..the phone is only smooth at the beggining after a few weeks it will look like the same as older phones thats andriod ..I am waiting on something from windows ..maybe just maybe it is better than this bs..check my other post and it is comical that people show screenshots of their phone on wifi instead of the actual network the antenna in this phone is horrendous! !!!!!

I should've corrected myself. What I really meant to say is that I want my phone to have great ROM community, official updates are just icing on the cake. Also, Samsung stated they will get ICS to the SGS2 so I assume they include all variants. Of course, I won't be relying it (and I'm sure there will be ICS ROMs that the wonderful devs will make, but it will be a nice added bonus.

Note: I'm only explaining the software portion of my wants in a phone, not my overall wants in a phone as a whole.

Brother man; it's a choice of purchasing a phone...not a house. Dont think, fret and debate about it as such...it's a nice phone (the Epic 4G Touch that is); and it is ICS compatible and will get it.

OP, do not listen to what dguidry12 has to say. He has become a troll here and that can be proven if you read all his other posts in this forum.

I owned a EVO 3D before the SGS2 and this phone was an upgrade even from that. To say this phone is nothing better then an EVO 4G or the Epic has to be one of the dumbest statements I have ever heard and only proves what he says has no validation at all.

If you are willing to wait I say wait for the quad core phones with Tegra 3. I wouldn't be suprised to see it in the SGS3. That will destroy anything we have right now and will make the Galaxy Nexus look like a baby........

If you need something right now, get the SGS2. No point in waiting for the Nexus to come if ever. They will all be left in the dirt a few moths from now anyway.

Yes, I've seen him around countless times on this forum when I was still very interested in this phone. I, along with other people, have tried to reason with him but he seems to be very stubborn :P
