If you're getting the 6P -- Why (or why not)?

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

I preordered but will probably cancel because of no wireless charging. Dont want to go back to poking around

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Nexus Team: "We've done a bunch of things to provide image stabilization: 1. The Nexus 6P/5X has a large 1.55um pixel camera and the amount of motion blur due to hand-shake is lower when you have large pixels. 2. We have a feature we call "lucky shot" internally. When you take a picture, behind the scenes, we select the best of 3 bursts of images. 3. When you use video, we have optic-flow-based image stabilization. 4. When you use SmartBurst, we select the best image from the burst (for example a shot with eyes open)."

The NexusNexus 6 is the reason I'm not getting the Nexus 6p. That phone was a real nightmare. First off, actually buying the thing was impossible for the first few months (good job google).
Second, within an hour of buying it I was regretting the purchase. Stuttering, lag, missed touches were my experience out of the box.
Third, despite what the reviews said that camera was bad. Really slow to focus. Even slower to release the shutter. Just bad. Macro, anything closer than about 18 inches or so, was impossible to focus on.

IMO, Nexii has a really strong reality distortion field. At least in the past they were cheap so it makes the shortcomings a lot easier to accept. With prices being the way they are I'd rather spend the extra money and get something more polished and just all around better.

Rear Design is a bit weird but I still like it as a whole. But the moto x is very similar give our take a few features starting at $100 less. So I will not be selling my moto for this... Yet

I don't know what you mean by "SOT" and I am not privy to your private initialism dictionary, but 5 hours is not solid battery life. Five hours is half of a work day. Five hours is having your phone go dead in the middle of your flight.

SOT means screen on time. I don't know why you'd admit not knowing what it means, then go on and talk about how bad 5 hours is. It's 5 hours of your screen actually being on, nothing to do with how long a battery lasts.

SOT is an acronym for "Screen On Time". It is an important measurement when talking about battery performance. A phone that last 3 days with only 1 hour SOT is far less impressive than one that lasts 18 hours with 6 hours SOT.

M's doze feature should help improve standby time and I hope the 3450mah battery will provide some serious SOT!

My experience with the Nexus 6 was quite different from yours. Mine worked very well, and continues to work very well. Yes, the camera isn't the best, but I couldn't care less about that. I use it only as a memory aid and occasionally for snapshots. I have better camera equipment for important shots. If I needed a new phone, the new Nexus phones would be at the top of the list.

The one lacking feature for me in all Nexus phones has been an microSD card... Even though 6P continued with that trend, I still have to say that I will buy it when in becomes available in my country. I currently have G4, but I really miss owning a Nexus! Skipped on 5 and 6, so I have to own this one!!! I miss vanilla android and loads of custom ROMs! So yes, hello guys, I'm a flashaholic... :D

I too, am a flashaholic. That's why i'm keeping my Nexus 5, but I won't get the 6P. I thought that the "Nexus" would be the best thing since sliced bread, but I was wrong. It's great for checking out new roms and such, but doesn't have enough memory. I'd like to put in a new battery, but that means prying off the back, which I won't do. I think that my current phone, the LG G3, is actually better than the N5, but when my contract is up I think that I may get that Lumia 950XL. The specs are comparable to the 6P, but guess what, it has a micro sd slot AND a removable battery. What a concept!!!:p

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

No because it is too big and the camera is ugly. I do not care for material used. Diamond, pure gold, or titanium. All I care is for 5 or 5.2 screen size no bigger than that cause I already tried a phablet before and I do not like huge phones.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Yeah! and would add that Samsung devices lose their worth (depreciate) very fast, so unless you plan to use until it breaks or becomes obsolete, steer clear of Sammy. Love the Nexus 6 so hope the 6P is a worthy upgrade.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

This was a major bummer, agreed but will settle for quick charging. This was a major error on Google's part though. Wireless charging is great. USB-C cables are hard to come by at this stage too but guess it is the future....

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Maybe when prices come down to earth for the 128 GB version, providing I can ever get Titanium backup to save to the cloud properly. $681 delivered for the 128 GB is still too much for me, even wiht with the $50 playstore credit. No mention of wireless charging either. My G4 can have up to a 2TB micro sd and has wireless charging with an $8 sticker from Amazon that works great.

What do you mean no mention of wireless charging? It's mentioned all over these forums that there is no wireless charging...

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Definitely getting one to replace my N6 that's just way too big.
Just gonna wait a little for production line "bugs" to be worked .

I always find it funny when I read posts like these and hear people express these kind of views. Imagine if people reviewed you as a person and acted as such lol. You don't do so well in the past so everyone writes you off forever never giving you the opportunity to grow or redeem yourself?

Every manufacturer makes blunders but good manufacturers learn from it and improve and I think that these new devices are google's best. It's neither here nor there to me what you decide to do but I'd say allow for growth, not just with google but in all aspects of life.

would be like never getting a phone with a snapdragon processor cause you had issues with Qualcomm this year!
