If you're getting the 6P -- Why (or why not)?

My apologies. I should have searched for the term on AC, instead of Google, Wikipedia, etc. Realizing my mistake I attempted to delete the post shortly after posting, but to no avail.

lol, don't sweat it ... we've all said a ton of stuff we wish we could've deleted!

now you know what it means, and more importantly, you'll know what specifically to look for when it comes to battery. personally, other than stock/software, SOT is one of the, if not the must important measurements I use to judge a phone.

The NexusNexus 6 is the reason I'm not getting the Nexus 6p. That phone was a real nightmare. First off, actually buying the thing was impossible for the first few months (good job google).
Second, within an hour of buying it I was regretting the purchase. Stuttering, lag, missed touches were my experience out of the box.
Third, despite what the reviews said that camera was bad. Really slow to focus. Even slower to release the shutter. Just bad. Macro, anything closer than about 18 inches or so, was impossible to focus on.

IMO, Nexii has a really strong reality distortion field. At least in the past they were cheap so it makes the shortcomings a lot easier to accept. With prices being the way they are I'd rather spend the extra money and get something more polished and just all around better.

I've had the Nexus 6, G6, note 4,note 5 and LG G4. The Nexus 6 has been the best of all of them. The only part of your review of it that was correct was that it was a pain in the assignment to get when first released. Camera while not perfect it is very good. It is the most lag free of all of them. What more premium phone were you talking about?

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 64 gig. I currently have a 32 GB Moto X Pure. Gonna keep whichever phone is better and sell the other to recoup costs. I really loved my cousin's Nexus 6. He let me borrow it for a couple of months and I loved it. Hoping Huawei hits a bullseye here.

I ordered a 6p with 64 GB as my phone is also my music player and I need 32 GB just for my mp3's. I also like all the display real estate I can get. My wife pre-ordered the 5x.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

The phone dimension is only as big as the iPhone 6 and 6s pluses, which have 5.5 displays

Just a note, the Aluminum 6P is actually listed as Aluminium on the Google Store. Even though it means the same thing, it's interesting to see the different spelling.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Yeah! and would add that Samsung devices lose their worth (depreciate) very fast, so unless you plan to use until it breaks or becomes obsolete, steer clear of Sammy. Love the Nexus 6 so hope the 6P is a worthy upgrade.

I'm either disappointed or misinformed. I purchased my 64gb Nexus 6 last October for $750 including tax. I kept mine in a case with a screen protector so it's in mint condition. Used mint condition ones are selling for $300 on Swappa. Is this typical for a phone to lose over half it's value in a year?

Not uncommon iPhone and Galaxy junk hold their value the best

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

After seeing the release I instantly thought..... "I am 100% getting this device". However I do now have a couple of concerns. Unless I have misinformed the device only comes with a one year warranty..... surely if they believe in the quality of the device they would of offered two years warranty like other companies who produce flagship devices. This coupled with the fact that it has a processor which has a reputation of over heating and whilst many people have tried to state that the issues with the processor are no longer there.... we won't know until we have actually put the phone through its paces. My nexus 7 2013 which I bought last year has had to go for repair twice under its one year warranty.... which doesn't give me much faith in the hardware of nexus devices.

My predicament is that my current handset has had a smashed screen for the past three months and I desperately need a new device. Any advice?

Which devices offer a two year warranty? I have never seen this.

I've never heard of a 2 year warranty. kinda sounds like you're trying to talk yourself out of buying it. if you look long enough, you'll find a flaw in every phone. it's not perfect, but it's pretty close.

I'm actually on the fence and trying to get someone to talk me into it. I can barely see anything on my S4 the screen is that badly smashed.

I'm going towards the 5x. The 6P is sweet but still too big for my comfort

It's quite typical. You usually want to sell before the next cycle of that phone is announced. Plus, keep your box and don't open the included accessories.

The first Nexus 6 I sold, I sold for just over $1000, right after it came out. I sold the same color and storage size N6 about 2 weeks ago for about $400.

No 6P for me. I ordered a 5X. There are four principal reasons:

1) I'm replacing a three year old phone. So its not hard to beat on a specs.
2) It's my first phone without a removable battery or SD card support. This is an experiment for me.
3) If I bought a 6P, I wouldn't stop at 32GB storage. I'd get 64GB or more. So the price difference isn't $70 for me.
4) From reading the forums, VZW has a spotty record supporting unlocked, non-carrier branded phones. I don't want to put too much into this until I see if it works.

Ordered a 64gb aluminum 6p
Coming from 32gb moto x 2013 developer edition.
Before that it was galaxy nexus on Verizon. Both phones rooted for tethering to nexus 7 2013. (grandfathered unlimited still)
Really hoping heat isn't an issue with the 810.

A little off topic, but you know you can probably replace the glass yourself for your S4 for around $10.
