I'm leaving the Galaxy S6 Edge+ for the iPhone

True I noticed that too on my previous iPhone 6S, battery life easily lasted me 2 days on the iPhone 6s, mind you , I was lucky to get the iPhone 6S with the TSMC chip not the Samsung CPU, the TSMC variant runs much cooler and has 15% more battery life than the Samsung variant of the iPhone 6S

This matches my experience with both a Note 4 and Note 5 in comparison to the iPhone 6s Plus. People don't want to believe how fantastic the battery life is on an iPhone 6s Plus. Oh well, doesn't matter to me. I've done the Android thing for 3 years and I am sick of many aspects of Android life. So, I gave the iPhone and spin and I am happy. No this doesn't matter to others, but it matters to me. I shouldn't have to use battery packs and car chargers and I don't now. Yeah the customization on Android is great, no doubt about that. However, that just isn't what is important to me. I want a full days use, not having to tweak this or turn this off. I want to just use it and let the phone handle the rest. I've never gotten that experience with Android. Though it hasn't been all bad and for those that the Android works... GREAT that's what makes the world go round.... choice!

there is no fast charging, takes freakin' 4 hours to a fufll charge.

Yeah and I do that overnight while I am sleeping and I've yet to EVER need to charge during the day considering I end my day with about 40% battery life. So that is a moot point!

Strange, that has been scientifically proven to be incorrect.

For the record, my experience with the S6E+ battery has been nothing but phenomenal.

I start my day at 6.30 in the morning and use my phone for IM, browsing, SnapChat, some YouTube, a few phone calls and task management apps. My device has WiFi turned on as well as data. At the office it keeps switching (smartly) between the two, depending on which pipeline is stronger. I have Bluetooth on and paired with my Gear S2 Classic. I have GPS turned on (with satellite signals, not just WiFi based location), NFC turned on and brightness at about 80%.

I come home at 6PM and still use it throughout the evening. I have poor cellular coverage in parts of my home so it strains the battery, I imagine. When I go to bed at 1AM, I am usually still at 20 ~ 30% on most days.

Like I said, best battery life on a phone that I've owned.

I'm close to being on the same boat you are. Its probably gonna be the unpopular opinion but lifestyle's changed and I cannot bear the inconveniences and instability Android brings. Just bricked another device. I would have been okay if it was my fault but it just woke up bootlooped. I had a consecutive month of midterms then finals. So once my phone broke, I literally had no time to fix it for a month. It was just the last straw. I can't deal with the bugs and little minor inconveniences of Android anymore, its the little things that add up. Android just doesn't fit my needs anymore.

In defense of your battery life, if you take the same sized battery and compare it between iOS and Android, iOS will be more efficient with your battery and last longer. But Android makers usually compensate by bolstering the battery size.

Yes, I know. Good Riddance. If anyone cares, here's why:

I really really really...[etc]...

Just know, going back the other direction is a real bltch. Just switched my wife from iPhone to Android and got even more evidence of Apples walled garden (with armed guards, tanks, watch towers and land mines keeping you in) and it was NOT easy getting her stuff moved over. In fact the only solution for moving sms had me paying $8 to do it.

THAT is why I don't like Apple. It's their way or the highway and once you're vested in their eco system, they make it as difficult as humanly possible to leave it.

No thanks. ...never.

I found this interesting because I was trying to decide between the 6p, 6s plus, and the edge+, I have never had a phone that had sufficient battery life for me except for the droid maxx. However, the quick charging for the edge+ gets rid of a lot of my battery angst, as far as the other stuff mentioned here; I like the security updates of the edge+, I like the Android system---- and I think all phone manufacturers and carriers are getting away from bloat etc. I don't notice any lag in the edge+. All that being said, I enjoy getting other's perspectives on phones, even if they're negative and even if they like iPhones.

I'm with you. I went to the 6 plus from the Note 5 for that exact same reason. I got so bored with it I thought, the 6p battery size + doze ought to be good enough. It is. It's not quite on the same level as the 6 plus but its close. That's good enough for me. IOS IS SOOO BORING.

You are blaming Apple because you did not know what you are doing. There are many free means of conversion that Google has made available and to my knowledge Apple has not blocked any of them. The walled garden is nonsense. That's just repeating a line that folks like to repeat. I have gone both to Android and back no issues either way.

Maybe because this is an Android Central forum? Isn't this what we are supposed to do here? Should we be posting pictures of our kids on this forum? He is looking for confirmation on his choice. If he was going from iPhone to Android no one would have a problem with it

No. What we are supposed to do is discuss our experiences with devices in order to help others make an informed buying decision. Worst decision I ever made was purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S3 after blindly following the "fanboys" on this and other sites. I've had plenty of Android devices, that was the worst. The best for me, so far has been the Moto X 2014. Not the fastest device ever, but the user experience, has beaten all others bar none. No lag, no bloat, near stock experience and great build quality. Motorola beat Google at their own game (and yes I also own the Nexus 5).

Say what you will but iPhones are great devices. And the 6S line is Apple's pinnacle. Once you reach a certain level of maturity you'll understand that all smartphones (from any manufacturer, on any platform) can do the basics, and that's all we need from them. Objectively speaking if the manufacturers software engineers were proficient enough with their coding skills they will have provided us with better than average power saving and memory management software (2 areas that Samsung is unfortunately not very proficient at judging by the numerous articles one can find on the 'net, and the video evidence that can be found on YouTube). These will ensure an overall pleasant experience. The rest is all subjective, even the number of apps available.

Long story short, I've yet to find the perfect experience on any platform, but having used them all I can say without reservation that there is nothing at all wrong with Apple's offering. The software experience is very good (albeit strictly Apple's choice from a UI perspective), build quality is excellent, the camera's (front and rear) are very good, and Apple's warranty service is the best in the business.

Devices I swap between on a routine basis: T-Mobile: iPhone 6s, Moto X 2014, Lumia 640... AT&T: Sony Xperia Z1, Blackberry Z10, LG G3... Verizon: Blackberry Z30, Lumia Icon, Moto E.

I have done it about 5 times and no problem...

Not true about an app not causing battery drain. I have a Note 5 and was having terrible battery life. Uninstalled several apps, since I could not identify the culprit and great battery life again. This is one of the negatives of android, but I just don't care for IOS. (Especially no back button)

i feel u but at the same time thats samsung, the motorola droid has one of the best battery life on the market.

I had similar battery life problems with my S6 Edge. It turned out that disabling Google now cards solved my problems! And the irony of the story is that I went through hell to enable it in the first place as I live Cyprus and Google now is not supported! :)

Sorry I haven't had time to respond for a few days. It was a busy weekend.

It's simple. Pick the phone that makes you happy. If adding new launchers and changing the phone into a new theme makes you happy, then stay away from iOS. If a boring phone that just works makes you happy, then get a Moto or an iPhone. Either way, you have to be happy with your $800+ device. Not everyone else.

The reviews I had always read had said this phone doesn't really lag at all, because the processor is excellent.

I didn't leave because of lag. I didn't have a lag issue with this phone. In fact, I didn't plan on leaving, but I found a way around the iOS hotspot issue, so I was able to move back to Apple. Lag was never a factor for me with the Edge +.

I'm glad to see your post, not because I post here often and know anyone personally, but because I am trying to figure out what phone to get next. I have an S4 personally and an S5 for my work phone. Not sure if I want to stay with Samsung, find a different Android or make the switch to iPhone. These break up letters are helpful to me.

My wife has the Sammy 5 and loves her battery life. She just hates the pictures it takes. They are not lighted properly on her Galaxy 5. I offered her my 6 Edge+ and she declined because I was constantly charging it. She doesn't have that problem with her 5. So, just an FYI for someone who's looking.
