Love the look of the phone and also like the attempt to reduce redundant apps. If I wasn't in love with the 6p I would be all over it.
Why is that? It's a phone that is no doubt competitive to the S7, don't see why they should have to price it lower than the S7.
I think the issue is brand recognition and marketing. The phone itself is very competitive with the S7, but it needs marketing in order to show consumers just how competitive it is and how it justifies the price.
Personally (I've said this in the comments), I think maybe the MSRP could be a touch lower. Maybe $649. Not a huge difference when you look at it, but can make a bit of a difference at times for sales.
This isn't a case of me not being able to afford the 10 at its full-price (I'm going to splurge quite a bit on the upcoming Galaxy Note 6), but given that the 10 costs as much as the GS7 and is likely sold in the same shelf, it would be interesting to see how it fares.
I can already see 2 advantages for the 10. The availability of a GSM-unlocked unit direct from HTC and the $100 off promo code for former HTC customers.
(I live by 3 words. fastboot flashing unlock)
Oh, you meant Canadian prices. My bad.
However, there are things I do not really like:
- I do not understand why HTC is not offering a silver version with black front. Why only in the US?
- Availability from mid May.. I had hoped for immediate availabilty.
Want this phone.... but I already have the S7 edge. If next week's reviews say that the display is nearly as good as the s7 (I want rich colors + brightness) and the battery life is equally as good as the S7 or better I'll jump. Unlocked bootloader out the gate also gives the 10 a huge +.
I'll also be switching as long as battery life is on par (with my Exynos S7) and the camera is noticeably better than the S7 in all aspects.
I think I'd put it a little higher. It looks a little odd with it so low on the bottom chin. What do you guys think about the placement of the navigation buttons? They are lower than you typically see.
