[Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep (legacy) Unlimited Data on Verizon

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

Simple. "switch it back or goodbye". If it's not switch after months this thread has been going it's too late now, too many people have done it. I don't think they really care they are just happy to have you guaranteed for another 2 years. That said I'll probably be checking daily for awhile.

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

Hello, I want the LG g3 but can't get it shipped. Any possibly in ordering it and having it shipped to your house by calling them and having the ship method changed? When the note 4 releases, what is the chance of it requiring an in store visit?

Btw I only have 1 phone line with unlimited data.

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

Go to Verizon or best buy and Upgrade dummy phone to the G3. Swap the phone where you want it, drop data put dumb phone back on line. This is not loophole and you can go to a Verizon store and have them do it all for you. You will probably need access to the dumb phone.

The loophole is when you transfer an unlimited line upgrade to the dumb line and get the Phone.

1. Upgrade dummy to G3 with tiered plan in store
2. Move G3 to my line. Do you just swap the SIM?
3. Re-activate dummy with phone call, data will drop itself.
4. G3 should now be on my line with my old SIM and UDP

Is that process correct. Just want to be absolutely sure before I pull any triggers.

I'm beginning to think verizon phones coming out (like the iPhone 5s and g3 already out) won't ever be shipped to home again :/ via best buy

Re: Best Buy Mobile lets me keep Unlimited Data Plan on Verizon?

I bought a Galaxy Note 3 during the 48hrs that BestBuy was selling it for only $99.
On Sunday the price went up to $199. Looks like I picked a great time to check their website.

Did you get the G3?

I wanted to g3 but it's not able to be shipped and I don't believe it will ever be shipped. Furthermore I'm beginning to suspect no future verizon phone (or maybe high demand phones idk) will be shipped again. Okay maybe I'm being overly paranoid lol does anyone know anything to the contrary?

Yeah looks like all the newest phones don't ship, I just grabbed an m8 from best buy, it was cheaper on Amazon but they actually make you select a new data plan whereas best buy didn't. I got scared they would try to use that against me later so I just paid the extra $50 and went with best buy. If they change my plan later I can say I'm sorry I selected to keep my plan and nowhere did I say it was ok to put me on a tiered plan.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Hey guys quick question, I don't have the newer micro sim card that the newer phones use. When I transfer an upgrade to another line and activate it there then cancel data and activate it back on my account to keep unlimited, do I just go to Verizon and get a new sim card to put into the phone?

Get a sim cutter/adapter via amazon or eBay.

That should work. Yes you just swap the sim. If it is a different size have Verizon give you a new one. Your scenario is an easy one.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Get a sim cutter/adapter via amazon or eBay.

As I recall, others in this thread have said they were able to get a "replacement" sim of the right size from a Verizon store. Has anyone done this recently? I was planning on doing that tomorrow. I'd rather not go the cutter/adapter route if I don't have to.

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

This is still working as of today, correct? I'm about to order a GN3 from BBM and just wanted to make sure. My store has them for 99 and their low price policy states online will price match in store also. :D

Do you have a 4G SIIM? The only difference with the newer ones is that they allow you to use ISIS the Verizon NFC payment app. If you don't plan on using ISIS and have a 4G SIM the one you have is fine.

I called and had them ship it they shipped it for free which is like their standard policy. The sim arrived in two days. I was upgrading from a 3g phone(w/o sim) to a 4g so I bought a cheap 4g phone to activate the sim and I did the sim activation online than swapped it into the new phone. If you have any question ask I will help you. I didn't take the chance to activate it directly onto the new phone for two reason 1) didn't hear from anyone that done it with success on here or slickdeals and 2) I had already lost unlimited on the first attempt so it was my second attempt I just took the safer route.

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

Watch it like a hawk

Can you explain how you did that. I have a UDP upgrade available and dummy phone which the upgrade is available until late 2015. I want to order from Amazon as well.

Yes it's still working. But good luck with the price match, they never actually refund it to you. They say they're going to, and it never happens. So just expect to pay whatever the online site says you'll pay.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Thanks. So the upshot is, one should always activate the phone on an alternate (tiered) line or phone first, then transfer it to the ULD line? If that's the case, do you really need the extra sim then (assuming you started with no sim or wrong size sim)?

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

You guys probably get so annoyed answering the same question over and over, but I wanted to make sure I understand the process before I mess something up.

I have a Samsung GS3 currently on an UDP that is eligible for an upgrade. To keep UDP all I need to do is the following?

1) Order LG G3 from BB using my Samsung GS3 upgrade.
2) Choose Keep my current plan and ship to my house (EDIT - I see that pick up in store is my only option. Is that risky?)
3) When I receive the LG I remove the SIM that shipped with it and place my current SIM in. (I beleive both phones use the micro-sim).
4) Activate the LG
5) Keep UDP.

Do I have that right?

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

My only question before taking the plunge is I currently have a micro sim card and the M8 has a nano. I'm aware in order for this to work I need to swap out sim cards. There lies the problem how can I do such when I need a nano sim and am not too confident in cutting and sanding down current micro sim card?

You could purchase a cutter.

I got a solution for you. Call Verizon and order a nano sim. If the rep says they can't do it say OK and call back. They will ship it you for free in 2 business days. Than go to amazon and order a Sim adapter. When the Sim arrives use the adapter you to convert it into a micro Sim and activate it on your line. Once done order m8 and just take your Sim out and remove the adapter and install it into m8.
