That should not be a problem. I have suspended my lines without any problems.
Looking for info to upgrade.
I have a family share 700 plan. 1 dumb phone, Moto X with 2gb data, LG G2 with unlimited data. I want to get a N6 to use on the LG G2 unlimited line. Currently the dumb phone is eligible for an upgrade. The other 2 lines say early edge upgrade only.
What are my options?
Thanks.
1) Through Verizon online, order the Nexus using a basic line's upgrade, picking the 2GB data plan for the basic line and have it shipped to home
2) When the Nexus 6 arrives, do not turn it on, rather log onto Verizon online and click activate or switch a device; and
3) Select the UDP Line and that you want to activate a device that has not been on your account before, type in the IMEI of the new smartphone and the SIM card number of the SIM card that shipped with the new smartphone and follow the directions to activate the new smartphone on the UDP line.
It's pretty straightforward...just upgrade the basic line but don't activate the phone on it. Instead, just activate the phone directly onto the unlimited line and you'll be all set.
I successfully ordered/received/activated a new phone on one of my UDP lines. I ordered another for my other UDP line, and when I try to activate it on the UDP line, it says, "The device you're activating is not compatible with your current plan. Please select a Data Plan below." Am I screwed for this UDP line? This was done via BBY. See below for account details:
2 UDP Lines
3 Basic
Transferred 1 upgrade from UDP1 to a basic and ordered a phone from BBY. Activated fine
Transferred 1 upgrade from UDP2 to a basic and ordered a phone from BBY, now getting this error. I am using the SIM that came with the phone (iPhone6). Moving from a Note 3.
This error is annoying and generally means that you need to trim your current active SIM. Before doing that, what smartphone did you upgrade Line 1 to? What is it's old smartphone? Basically, I want to know what other smartphones you have available to use as I have a few ideas that might work before you cut your current SIM.
The first line i upgraded went from a galaxy s4 to an iphone 6. It is the one that worked fine. This one was upgraded from a note 3 to iphone 6. The note 3 is obviously still active at the moment. I can run to Verizon and get a new sim if needed as well.
You definitely do not want to get Verizon involved as there is no need to get a new SIM.
Do you still have your old S4? What happens if you try to activate that on Line 2? If it activates, wait an hour and then try activating the new iPhone.
The site wants me to put my sim from the note 3 into the s4. Is that what I should do?
That's standard since they have the same SIM. Go ahead and swap SIMs to active the s4. Wait an hour and then try to activate the iPhone 6 directly onto Line 2. I'm not sure if this will work, but it won't affect your unlimited data.
The other thing you could do is put the SIM from Line 1 into the new iPhone so it activates onto Line 1. Now take the "old" iPhone with the "new" SIM and try activating it on Line 2.
If neither of these things work, then you'll probably have to cut your current SIM to activate the new iPhone.
None of these methods worked unfortunately. I managed to cut the sim correctly and put it in the phone. It is working. Is there anything else I need to do? Or should I be good from here? That's standard since they have the same SIM. Go ahead and swap SIMs to active the s4. Wait an hour and then try to activate the iPhone 6 directly onto Line 2. Hi all! After reading through all these postes I need a dumbed down version please.... I currently have a iPhone 4s with UDP. I was due for an upgrade in 2013 but I refuse to lose my UDP. Is there anyway I can get a new iphone(5 or 6) without losing UDP and without paying full price for a phone? I have a single line plan (I can add my parents to my plane with dumb phones if I need to) thanks!
So I'm sure people are sick of the same question all the time, but I'm paranoid about losing unlimited data. So just double checking...
My situation:
Familyshare plan 700
Line 1 Droid DNA, TDP, Upgrade in May
Line 2 DInc 2, UDP, Upgrade
Now in May I was going to upgrade line 1 to an S6, activate it for a day, then deactivate it, reactivate the DNA on 1, and then activate the s6 on line 2. This seems like it would work.
However, from reading the last few pages of the thread, it seems like I could just order the S6 on Line 1, not turn it on, and activate it directly on line 2.
What is the best course of action? TIA!
You will have to wait until they will ship the S6. Best Buy usually does in store pickup only on new phones. This will not work for the Best Buy method.Ok I've got a few questions.
I am off contract with verizon on a singple line plan with 400 minutes and unlimited data.
I bought my moto x (2013) in full from motorola and it's what I've been using.
I want the S6.
Can someone breakdown what I need to do select on bestbuy in order to keep my plan?
Do I pick new 2 year contract? I didn't see the option of ship to home. It just said free pick up in store.
do I give them the verizon online account password when it asks?
a walkthrough would be very helpful.
thanks
