When this new phone comes in is it best to cut my SIM card down and install it into the new phone? Or one of the other ways you are suggesting to people?

I used best buy to transfer my upgrade yesterday and got an email saying my phone shipped today. Can I upgraded again another line today on best buy even though my other phone is not here yet or do I have to wait?

You probably need to receive and activate the device. The will be a pending order that we'll prevent you from ordering another device.

Just to be clear, you transferred the upgrade to a tiered line?

Yes, I used my UDP upgrade to transfer it to the TDP.

And now Droid-Life is saying that upgrades will still be available. Who knows what is going to happen on the 13th.

That's not quite correct. You can't activate a smartphone on the basic line and then put the basic phone back on. This gets you stuck with data plan on the basic line.

When you use a basic line upgrade, you just activate the phone directly onto the unlimited line and do not touch the basic.

I'm a Verizon rep with an unlimited data line and I promise you that that is not correct.... Truth is if you have to go in a Verizon store to do what you need to do eventually somebody's going to get you off of you UDP. Learn to do everything online, swap sims, and how to activate new sims through My Verizon.

Hello sorry just found out I need to leave tomorrow morning and won't be back until after 13th.

1. UDP upgrade avail. Droid turbo
2. UDP upgrade available iPhone 6
3. 2GB no upgrade Samsung S4
4 basic no upgrade cosmo

I want to get a iPhone 6 plus for line 3 using upgrade from either line 1 or 2.

Currently have iPhone 6+ with UDP on line 1 (upgrade available)
line 2 is dummy phone (no upgrade)

What is my best option to get an additional phone before they go to the new system. Want to get another iPhone 6+ as a spare. Would love to buy at BB.com, but last time i tried, it wouldn't let me transfer the upgrade. Can i still get it from bb and keep unlimited?

Correct. When the G4 arrives, destroy the SIM that ships with the phone. You'll use the SIM in the G3 on Line 2 and put that into the new G4. This will bypass the data plan on Line 3 and automatically program the phone for the unlimited plan on Line 2.

Just placed the order through verizon website fingers crossed i get it on the 13th and dont add an extra $30 to my bill. I know this was my work around before and the reason i got those 2 extra lines in the first place. Thanks for your help!

I would like to do the following:

Line 1: UDP with upgrade available
Line 2: 2 GB Tiered plan (no upgrade available)

I want to use Line 1's upgrade on Line 2 and give Line 2 a new two year contract phone (say iPhone), but when I went to go checkout, it says I need to select a data plan as Unlimited Data is no longer available. Is it correct that I select a $30 2 GB plan or did Verizon close the loophole?

If I select the $30 2 GB plan, do I let the phone ship to my house, take Line 2's current SIM and insert into new iPhone, then after an hour take out and put in UDP SIM before eventually switching back to Line 2's SIM so that the new iPhone stays on Line 2? Or is this impossible?

That's because your directions are a little off. Just do the following:

1.) When the Turbo arrives, just follow the activation instructions that come with the phone. You'll activate the Turbo with the nano SIM.
2.) Wait an hour and make sure the Turbo works fine.
3.) Assuming it works, you'll log into Verizon and reactivate the old phone that was on Line 2. This will deactivate the Turbo.
4.) Once you have the old phone on Line 2 working again, move the Turbo onto Line 1. If Line 1 has a nano SIM, just use that SIM to activate the Turbo. If they are mismatched, take the Turbo to a VAR for activation.

You ordered the Turbo on a tiered data line. Therefore, the SIM card that ships with it is coded for the tiered line and has no effect on your unlimited line. When you activate the Turbo, it will seem like the upgrade originated on the tiered line the entire time. This is why you transfer it over.

Since your Line 1 phone does not have a nano SIM, just take the Turbo to a VAR to activate it onto Line 1. The will gladly do it after you re-activate the old phone on Line 2.

It depends if you foresee needing to do any plan changes in the next month or so. If you don't, you can activate it directly onto the unlimited line. This will leave a pending activation on the tiered line for about a month. If you do not want a pending activation, then activate it on the tiered line first.

That's easy. Through Verizon online, just transfer the upgrade from line 1 to line 3 and order the iPhone 6+. Have the phone shipped to home. When it arrives, just follow the activation instructions.

There is nothing else you need to do.
