I want to get rid of my S5 on L1 and get an S7. Can this still be done?

L1: S5, UDP, no upgrade
L2: S6, TDP, no upgrade
L3: S6, TDP, no upgrade
L4: Turbo, UDP, upgrade available
L5: Turbo, TDP, no upgrade

So from what I am gathering I can transfer the upgrade from L4 to L2. Upgrade the phone to S7. Activate S7 on L2. Wait a few hours. Activate S6 back on L2. Then activate S7 on L1 and live happily ever after with UDP? Do I need to destroy the SIM card that comes with the new S7 before activating it on L2?

Then in a few months when L1 upgrade becomes available can I do the same thing with L4? Just as long as the new upgraded phone on the UDP line that the upgrade came from?

Hey all. I got the new S7 and activated it on L2. Now I can't seem to get the old S6 to activate back on L2. Do I need to use the SIM card that came with the new S7 in the old S6 to get it to ctivate back on L2? I though I was supposed to destroy it after activating the S7 L2? I was doing the switch on the Verizon website and selected activate an old phone (the S6) on L2.

And also can some clarify that I need to cut down the SIM from L1's S5 and put it into the S7 so it works on L1 to finish the process

Correct : buy and sell without putting on vzw account

Just checked my account and contract got extended 2 years, UDP still good, and the s7 should be delivered tomorrow.

I'm going to hold onto the s7 for 14 days to make sure the UDP stays on my line just in case I have to return it.

Hopefully everything works and I end up selling the brand new s7 on CL or swappa.

You'll make a nice piece of change off of the s7...glad the UDP is still in tact!! How much data do you typically use in a billing cycle??

I had to call vzw to get the old S6 back active on L2.

If anyone can answer this quick question I would really appreciate it. Do I use the vzw site activation system to activate the S7 on L1 now after I cut down the SIM card from the old S5? Thanks for the help as I have a S7 paperweight right now.

Once you put the S5 SIM into the S7 and set it up, it should be on that line. No reason to have to activate it online.

All you have to do is insert your sim cards to each phone and nothing else. "Do not use Verizon website" or you may lose your UPD

Thanks for the help. I cut the Sim card down and stuck it in the S7. Working great. UDP still shows on all lines that had it before. Woot! This place rocks

I use on average about 30-40gb a month...nothing to crazy.

Ok that's not too heavy....now pray for me lol bc I average about 950 gigs per month lol...that's why I can never ever never let go of my UDP lol

I just attempted the BBM and at the final step it said it would be changing my UDP if I continued. Has anyone else experienced this? When was the last time anyone successfully upgraded with the BBM? I have a UDP line that is eligible for upgrade as of today.

You should still be able to upgrade and keep your UDP....

Are you using different lines? You can not do the old BBM using just one line, if you do you will lose the UDP.

Yes.

But you can't transfer an upgrade from the UDP line and then try to put her phone on that same line. Will lose UDP that way also.

Now if you have 2 Udp lines you can upgrade them, burn the new sims and flip flop the old sims so line 1's upgraded phone gets line 2's sim and Vise Vera

1- No UDP, upgrade eligible
2- No UDP, no upgrade
3- UDP, no upgrade
4- UDP, upgrade eligible

Hey I have a question. I have 4 lines two of which are UDP and both of them have an upgrade available. If I wanted to get a new phone for UDP line 1 I would have to transfer over the upgrade from UDP line 2 to one of the other lines, activate it, and then switch it over to UDP line 1? Thanks for your help.
