Anyone know if after using the BB method, how long the "pending activation" status will stay on my account? I bought my phone 3 weeks ago. Also, can my old phone be sold or is it still connected to my line since the activation is still pending?

Need a little more info on what you did. I never got a pending activation when I did the BB method back in April. I used my wifes line for the upgrade then cut my sim and placed it on my line. It never touched her line and I never got a pending activation.

I have 4 lines
Line 1 UDP eligible for upgrade
Line 2 UDP eligible for upgrade
Line 3 2 gig not eligible
Line 4 2 gig not eligible

Line 1 has Moto x 2013. I want Moto x 2014 on line 1. Move old Moto x to line 4 which has HTC Rezound. Of course, I want to keep UDP.
Do I upgrade Line 1 or have to transfer upgrade? What about activation?
Thanks for helping me out. After 100 pages, I am so confused.

should be able to move the upgrade from the udp line to the tdp line upgrade phone activate new phone on tdp line use it for an hour or two make a few calls send a few texts ect. the go online only and put the old phone back on the tdp line that will free up the new phone then online once again activate the new phone on the udp line i just pre ordered the note 4 that is my plan and from everything i have read over the last few weeks that method is still working online only though dont go to the store and try to do it.

But as I asked before, can I use one Moto X to ultimately activate 2 phones? Or will it not be recognized when I try to activate the second phone because its SIM was removed and used?

I don't know the answer to your questions about using 1 intermediate phone twice.
I don't want to guess and risk you losing a UDP plan.

Perhaps someone who has tried to use 1 phone can let us know if that was successful.

just an update i moved my upgrade from my upd line to my tdp line and pre ordered the note 4 this morning the tdp line now showes a pending activation but the dates havent changed on either yet upd still says month to month.. as of now

Alright, it's been over a year now since I've done this. Last year, I was able to successfully upgrade my UDL through BestBuy via dumb phone method. Now I am looking to replace the UDL for the Note 4. Here's my current plan.

Line 1 - UDP - eligible for upgrade
Line 2 - TDP - non eligible
Line 3 - Dumb Phone - eligible for upgrade
Line 4 - Dumb Phone - non eligible
Line 5 - Dumb Phone - non eligible

I am looking to transfer the upgrade on line 3 to the TDP on line 2 (it was recently upgraded to an iphone 6). Once I've completed the transfer, I am planing to upgrade the line for a Note 4.

Here's my question, will I be charged any fee for deactivating the Note 4 on the TDP and reactivating the old iphone 6 on line 2? I would like to free up the Note 4 so I can activate it on my UDL. What are your thoughts to this? Is there a better method I should try?

Exact date couldn't tell ya, it was several months ago but I do remember getting the phone in like a day from ordering it. Extremely fast delivery. Why do you ask?

There is no charge to change phones besides the upgrade fee which is only charged on the phone received at subsidized pricing

They now have the note 4 black available to preorder on bestbuy.com for Verizon but clearly states you will be dropped to 2gb data by default. Guess I will wait for the white one to show up on there and give it a try!!!

Here's my current setup



Line 1 - UDP - Month to Month
Line 2 - UDP - Month to Month (wifes line)
Line 3 Dumbphone - no upgrade availible.

I want a Note 4 and the wife wants a G3.

So if the BB method is still working, simply order a note 4 on line 1,
have it shipped to home, Activate it on my current sim and we should be good to go correct?

(then later on wash and repeat for line 2.)

IF BB method is dead by Note 4 in stock, heres a scenario we can live with.

upgrade line 2 to tiered plan. - get note 4.
Swap line 1 upgrade back to line 2 and pick up a G3?

Hi, Guys I want to upgrade my UDP line and keep the UDP. From what I have been reading this can be done by two methods. The Verizon and the Best Buy method. I want to know if someone can help me out so I don't make the wrong move and then I lose my UDP. My current situation is this:
4 lines:
1 UDP- IPhone 5, upgrade available (I upgraded one of my lines 2 years ago to get the iPhone 5 then I switched the iPhone 5 to this line)
1 basic line, upgrade available (not a smartphone)
2 2gb phone lines- only one phone is upgradable
What can I do so I can keep my UDP? Thanks

I've been away for a couple months so I'm not sure what is still working to upgrade and keep udp on Verizon.

Several months ago I transferred my UDP upgrade to a tiered plan and when the new phone arrived I simply pulled the SIM card from it, put the UDP SIM card in it and I had a new phone with a 2 year extension on my UDP line.

Now a friend has a UDP line with an upgrade available and a dumbphone line. Not knowing what works still, what exactly does he need to do to upgrade his UDP line phone and keep the UDP?

I had an upgrade on my line, ordered from BB, and got an S5 shipped two days later. Already had the S5 from the old method of opening a new line, swapping the phone, then dropping that line to a dumb phone. I'm planning to give my original S5 to my wife, but don't want to swap her SIM card until the pending activation comes off my account. And yes, the only reason for doing this upgrade was the planned throttling announcement from verizon. It was the 15th day when the plan was cancelled...

I've read that only some people have the pending activation placed on their account, but that usually falls off after a week to 10 days. It's been a month and still pending for me.

You don't need to do the BB method. Just do:

1.) Transfer upgrade to line 2
2.) Order Note 4 through the upgrade on line 2
3.) Activate the Note 4 on line 2 when it comes
4.) Log into Verizon and deactivate the Note 4 from line 2. Reactivate the old phone.
5.) Active Note 4 on line 1.

That's all you need to do.
