Line 1 UDP Eligible for upgrade
Line 2 UDP Eligible for upgrade
Line 3 Dumb Phone Eligble for upgrade
Line 4 Dumb Phone Eligble for upgrade

Line 1 and Line 3 want to upgrade to new smartphones, how do I do this? Line 2 might want to upgrade in the near future, Because of our contract Line 3 will get unlimited Data when they get a smart phone.

please help

What contract do you have that you can add an unlimited line? I never heard of this other then the Apple loophole a couple months ago. Can you clarify because it will probably change our advice on how to get new phones.

L1 smartphone UDP eligible for an upgrade
L2 smartphone TDP not eligible for upgrade

can i use BB method to get the L1 to get an upgrade and keep UDP by transferring upgrade to L2 in BB website and order new S5?
since L2 is TDP, I was thinking to get the phone in store and activate the phone in store under L2; doing this to get the phone faster instead of waiting for two or three days. since it is TDP i don't have to worry about anything right? After the activation on L2, an hour later i will switch the L2 to the previous smartphone and free up the new S5 to upgrade the L1. Anything wrong by doing this? or is there a better method? btw, BB has $1 for S5 that is why I am doing this BB method.

Transferring the upgrade to the tiered line is the best option in my opinion. It should work through Best Buy.

1. I want to pre-order the galaxy s6 tomorrow using bb method for line 1. I already have the nano sim that i ordered from vzw & used an adapter for my s4. so was wondering if the bb method works for pre-orders or will it prompt me to change my udp.

2. I wanted to upgrade line 2 to an iphone 5s for my wife. I also ordered the nano sim compatible with the iphone 5s. but not sure if using an adapter for that sim card will work since the 4s is a 3G phone & the nano sim is for 4G phones. Does this matter? And will bb method work for this too?

Please help and thank you in advance for the advice/help.

The S6 should work for pre order.

To do best buy on line 2 she will need a 4G phone active her line before you order the phone. The iPhone 4s will not work.

Just make sure it allows for delivery when you preorder the phone. If it will only allow in store pickup it won't work.

Mr. Toad is correct about line 1 in that the Best Buy method will work fine because of your current SIM situation.

As for Line 2, you'll have a couple of options. My first advice would be to activate briefly the old S4 from Line 1 as this will put a 4G phone on the line. After that, you can either do the Best Buy Method (after using a nano-SIM and an adapter) or upgrading Line 3 (but activating the phone directly on Line 2).

DO NOT GET IT IN STORE!!!!! You are asking for trouble going this way and there is a good reason why we say avoid talking to Verizon or Best Buy. You have the possibility of losing your unlimited plan. Additionally, the store rep will most likely make stuff up and say "you'll lose unlimited by doing this". While activating the phone is faster, it is not worth the hassle.

With that said, just go online and transfer your upgrade to the tiered line through Best Buy. Order the S5 for the tiered line and have it shipped home. Activate the phone on the tiered line for an hour or so. Then log into Verizon and move the new S5 on to the unlimited data.

Trust me, I understand wanting this to move quicker, but it is just not worth it. Follow the directions that have been given to you and you'll be fine.

I missed the part about picking it up in the store. Dusoccer10 is right, best buy method has to be delivered. It will not work if you pick it up. You will lose unlimited if you pick it up in the store.

There is a difference as it relates to NFC. If she plans on using Apple Pay, then you'll need a specific SIM card. If not, then an Android one will work fine.

You could also use the upgrade on the basic line to get the iPhone 6. This will work around the SIM issue. Just order the iPhone on the basic line and have it shipped home. When the phone arrives, log into Verizon and activate the phone directly on to your wife's line using the SIM and IMEI numbers.

If you want to take advantage the Best Buy offer I would just use the Best Buy method for the Note 4. Order it for delivery online. Choose keep existing plan. When you get the Phone DO NOT TURN IT ON. Take the SIM out and trash it. Put the SIM from your Note 2 into the new phone.

I would do the same thing for the iPhone. Order from Best Buy on line 2. When you get the Phone take it to Verizon and say you bought it online and have them activate it on line 3. If you don't want to go to the store call and ask for a SIM say you got a used iPhone 6.

The reason it matters is if phones are 3g or use different Sims will change what is recommended.

Let us know if you get unlimited data on line 3.

what is the process of activation for this case? as far as the simcard use, will i be using the new simcard comes with S5 or use the existing TDP's simcard? not so clear about this....

That would probably work. It would be to risky for me though. I prefer to be in complete control when using a loophole to keep unlimited.
