If the old Sim doesn't work can I go to a var store, get a new nano Sim and activate it on my UDP line?
I have a feeling that a cut Sim from the gnex won't work with an iPhone 6
My Summary and it was finished a couple days ago and it worked
I used the Verizon online for everything
Here is what I had:
#1 Motorola Droid 4 SmartPhone, UpGrade Available, Month to Month, Unlimited Data Plan, Micro SIM Card
#2 Apple iPhone 5s SmartPhone, UpGrade Available, Month to Month, Unlimited Data Plan, Nano SIM card
#3 Samsung Glaxy S4 SmartPhone, Locked in 2 year contract to (2016), Tiered Plan, Micro SIM Card
#4 LG Cosmos 3, BasicPhone, Locked in 2 year Contract (2016), No Data Plan, No Sim Card
I transferred upgrade from #1 to #3.
I used that upgrade (now on #3) to get a Droid Turbo (Nano Sim) and had it shipped to me from Verizon
Because I lost the SIM that came with phone I used Verizon online to order another for free (using #3 activation to order it)
On #3 I activated the newly delivered SIM and the Droid Turbo and used phone for an hour.
I then reactivated old phone (Samsung Glaxy) on #3 ( using option a device already used on account) using its old SIM (I think I needed to type in SIM #)
This deactivated the new Droid Turbo.
I then reactivated the new Droid Turbo (using option a device already used on account) on #1. Using the same SIM that was used when activating Droid Turbo on #3
New setup as of today , Red text shows the changes
#1 Motorola Droid Turbo SmartPhone, UpGrade Available, Month to Month, Unlimited Data Plan,Nano SIM Card
#2 Apple iPhone 5s SmartPhone, UpGrade Available, Month to Month, Unlimited Data Plan, Nano SIM card
#3 Samsung Glaxy S4 SmartPhone, Locked in 2 year contract to (2016), Tiered Plan, Micro SIM Card
#4 LG Cosmos 3, BasicPhone, Locked in 2 year Contract (2016), No Data Plan, No Sim Card
Notice no change in the month to month or Locked contracts. As of today I tested if I could upgrade or transfer the upgrade from #1. I had no issue selecting to. I obviously didn't try to submit it.
Seems I didn't lose my UDP or my Upgrade. Will have to wait and see after billing cycle.
Also because of issues with orders and shipping (that I described in other posts) I got free 1 day shipping on the phone and the extra SIM (2 shipments $14.99 X 2 ) and also a free upgrade of the new phone ($40.00).

Refer to dusoccer10 and my previous reply. If the sim does not work you will have to return the phone. If you attempt to activate a different sim out will complete the order and convert you to the 2gb plan. Eventually you will be able to change SIMs but it may take up to several months for the pending activation to drop off.If the old Sim doesn't work can I go to a var store, get a new nano Sim and activate it on my UDP line?

Congrats on the upgrade. What you did is the old fashion transfer upgrade to a tiered line. That is the tried and true method and recommended for everyone who has both an unlimited and tiered plans on their account. Minus losing the SIM, your steps are the way to proceed to keep an unlimited data line.
As for the upgrade, Verizon's has a well known glitch that is allowing people to still keep their unlimited upgrade after transferring it to a tiered line. It doesn't happen for everyone, so you seem to be one of the lucky ones.
Thanks for yours and others help and clarifications.
In the situation like mine where a month to month upgrade (#1 line) is transferred and used on a under contract line (#3) what is supposed to happen, after the dust has settled, as far as the old expiration on line #3 (2016), the month to month line and the new 2 year contract and upgrade dates or contract expirations.
The upgrade is coming from line 1. Line 1 will go under contract for two years. It will not have an upgrade available during this time. Line 3's contract end date will not change and the upgrade will be available at the end of the contract.

It does happen and it will look like you still have an upgrade available on that line... as if you have never upgraded.
And no new contract anywhere expiring in 2 years?
To those that this happened to has anyone tried using the upgrade again successfully?
Correct. You'll log into Verizon and click "activate or switch device". Just select your unlimited data line, choose activate a new device that has not been on the account before, and input the IMEI and SIM numbers that come with the new phone.
If it happens to me I don't plan on using it anytime soon. I am just curious what happens with the 2 year contract. I mean if they look at your account and see it used a upgrade on a certain date but there is no 2 year contract associated with that date could they go back retroactively and apply it. And if you already reused it then what would they do?
Does it matter that my wife turned the phone on and I haven't activated it yet? She immediately turned it off, but I wanted to be sure before I try to activate it.
It might as all across the Internet it says don't turn on the phone until after you move it. I have no idea if this will still work. I would suggest just following the rest of the directions and seeing what happens. You have 14 days to make sure it works; otherwise return you'll need to return the phone.
Your account would say 2gb not unlimited. I would check for the next couple days. She didn't go through the prompts, just turned on to config screen and back off. No action taken. Women... lol. If it doesn't work, would that mean I lose UDP? OR how would I see that.
