iPhone 6's are bending when sitting down?

The direction of the bend would suggest that the phone would have to be*sideways*in a front pocket. Who wears pants that would allow a sideways i6 Plus in the front pockets? Also, it would have to be a lot of thigh and tight jeans pressure, so I'm not buying the front pocket stories. Sitting down with the phone in a back pocket would produce the direction of the bend in the phone, and I don't know why anyone would put a $650-$1000 phone in their back pocket and then sit on it.

Agreed.

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

Are you blind?? Or just being a fanboy?

I actually watched the video. Did you? Here it is again.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwM4ypi3at0

The Galaxy notes screen shatters and the plastic chassis bends.
Which part of the video does that happen? Give me the time index.

Go to 2:22 in the video above and tell me what he says.

We don't know that it was sideways...you are assuming that.

Even if it was...how come nobody else is complaining about these issues? Why is it only the iPhone? Phablets have been out for a long time now.

I don't think that the phone would bend in that direction, if it is parallel with the leg. Sitting on it with it in your back pocket would produce that direction of bend.

If the jeans are tight enough it would, yeah.

Remember, the bend this guy is claiming is NOT the extreme bend shown in the demo video. It's just a slight bend. And yeah, I think that could happen with someone with muscular legs and tight jeans (or maybe even fat + tight jeans).

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

Here watch this one:
So your counter is to show a 18 month old Samsung phone instead? How many Samsung users complained about it breaking in their pocket?

Well, if the Note 3 is any indication, Samsung seems to have fixed the problem. When can we expect Apple to fix theirs?

Exactly! Now ask him how many Apple users are having this 'Bend/Bent' problem?? Its a big enough problem that Apple should be addressing directly. We shall see how they take care of their customers with this problem.

I dont think it would have to be sideways. If the guys pocket was shallow the 6 plus is tall enough that it could protrude out the top of the pocket ever so slightly. When sitting down in a position that your thighs were at a 90 degree angle with your stomach I could absolutely see that type of pressure occurring.

The complaining is two-fold:

a). Other phablets are made of plastic, which will bend but for the most part not hold shape, and

b) its an iPhone.

I always carry my Note 2 in my left front pocket. With jeans it can be a bit snug, particularly sitting in a car, but I've had no problems with it.

If the iPhone 6+ is really curving just from being carried in pants pockets, that seems like a defect to me. On the other hand, videos of people trying to bend it with their hands strike me as ridiculous. They are obviously putting a lot of force on the phone. I bet I could break my Note 2 if I were to do the same thing with it.
Apple says, Now you're Carrying it wrong! ;)

So Samsung s4 bends, get over it.
I'm using my 6+' it's not bending, sorry to disappoint.

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

iPhone 6 Plus: Aluminium body: bends

Samsung Galaxy 4: Plastic body: bends and breaks

Would be interesting to see the same guy bending the iPhone 6, right? Before he does that, how do you know iP6+ won't break in his powerful hand?

At least OP's video has the same guy doing the test. I can find a bodybuilder and break anything too, does that mean somehow iP6+ is great by bending in the front pocket?

IN FRONT POCKET!

why would we disappoint? because you love to use an inferior product? nonono, I m happy for ya!

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

Here's a tip. Don't try to bend your phone will all those mighty thumb muscles. I enjoy a bit of schadenfreude with the best of them, but why conflate the issue? It's already rather serious for Apple, and quite funny as a whole.

Alternatively... People are complaining because their phones are bending.

Awwwwww poor Lil isheeps apple doesn't make cheap plastic phones but they sure make cheap metal ones. I put my note 3 in my front and back pockets while running working and doing everything else and never had a problem whatsoever...
