iPhone 6's are bending when sitting down?

Re: The bend test: iPhone 6+ vs Note 3 - one of them fails

I think we should go with "Bendghazi" instead of "Bendgate". I'm a little "gate"-d out.

You can also charge your iPhone in the microwave lol lol.....

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

When an issue DOES arise then gloat if it makes you feel better about having an Android. Be my guest, there are plenty of people on this forum that will join you in an Apple bashing circle jerk. However, you are believing. TWO. WHOLE. PEOPLE. Can you show me the gloating on iMore? How about the gloating of a majority market share by Android users? It goes both ways as you said. If you are bashing apple at this moment then by your reasoning it is perfectly acceptable to bash Android users for buying an inferior phone that bends itself but I haven't heard a PEEP by iMore gloating over this.

Dude, you should really start going to your anger management classes...no need to get so "bent" over people criticizing your precious iPhone for an obvious design flaw. Your avatar is certainly accurate though :-/

And Apple fan boys will just tout this as a new "feature". A phone that conforms to the pocket of their skinny jeans.

It is pitiful when only two people showed a bent phone, which probably was in there back pocket, and the whole internet goes crazy. /smh

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Damn that sucks for iPhone users who experience this.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of metal. Can bend and warp. Though it maybe seems like Apple are using a softer metal aluminium composition than say the HTC One M8. Maybe that would factor into it.

There are plenty of types of metals and alloys. You could make the phone out of a metal that's so strong it won't ever bend under human force, however that would cost a lot. My guess is Apple went for a thin and light alloy mix which probably meant it wasn't super strong.

The best way would have been to use titanium but at a high cost

Re: The bend test: iPhone 6+ vs Note 3 - one of them fails

Before you all go bashing apple... please wait and see if the Note 4 performs any better. I fear the change to metal was a bad move. I mean it may feal better in the hand... at least so they say... But i dont think it will hold up as well over time.

The bend test: iPhone 6+ vs Note 3 - one of them fails

Lets see, 2 people reported this "bending" in their front pocket out of 10 million iPhones sold. Yeah, major problem. I highly doubt that happened without leaving bruises on that person's thigh. Just like other Applegates, this being blown out of proportion. In other news, if I heat wax, it melts. If I put enough moment on anything, it will bend.

Yeah, they were probably lying. They probably don't even own iPhones. It's a big conspiracy to make Apple look bad. Curse those fandroid terrorists!

Maybe a frakking case might mitigate the damage? Otterbox people, Otterbox. And also, I don't care how good the ad is, if ANYONE thinks putting a electronic FRELLING DEVICE into a microwave is a good idea.....you just fail at life in every which way. Even as a kid I was told you can't even put like tin foil into a microwave, or something like that, the hell you think a fancy plastic framed device is gonna have happen to it?

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

Exactly! Now ask him how many Apple users are having this 'Bend/Bent' problem?? Its a big enough problem that Apple should be addressing directly. We shall see how they take care of their customers with this problem.

How many? Under 5 people and over 10 million phones sold this week. Yes, that's 0.00005%. Come on Apple, make a statement.

If it were only two we most likely wouldn't be talking about it. Maybe it's not widespread, but it does seem to be an issue. As for the physics involved, I'd imagine that if your iPhone is sitting a little high in your pocket and gets caught between your femur and your hip it's going to act like a lever and bend the phone without too much effort. Definitely isn't going to leave much on the way of a mark.

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Apple fans will say, "You're sitting wrong"

You have no idea.... That's what iMore is full of right now. Sitting wrong, putting it in the wrong pockets, just using it wrong generally... Some of them really can't accept that Apple made a mistake with their design. Too thin!

It won't be a problem for everyone, and it would still take a lot of force, but it's really not what I want to see.

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Of course we can start joking now about how apple copies the LG Flex

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Honestly - isn't this a user problem? We can't expect to have our phones thin as paper - made by hard material - and still resist force when bending.
