Shouldn't they already have a version of cwm that works with 2.2? I mean some US Galaxy S phones have had leaks or in the case of the vibrant, official releases.

Sounds like the main issue is the kernel. The hardware is different on all of the galaxy s phones.

I have seen the kernel leak - it is a zImage and is not stable.
