IRC has OFFICIAL leak of 2.2 for the Fascinate!

I don't like Apple products less so because of the products, but because I don't like Apple as a company, much less Steve Jobs as a person from what I can tell from reading. Plus Apple's products post Jobs' return have always seemed like they were made for children to me.

Exactly why I don't like Apple products. It's not because I think Apple makes crappy products, because they don't, but it's because of the attitude that Steve Jobs and Apple have that they're the best thing to ever happen to the industry.

Ok I get it. It could be the best device ever but your not interested if the company portrays the wrong image in your opinion.

steve jobs is the devil. i dont want any of his crap anywhere near me. the only reason my wife has an iPod is because she got it before she met me. if adolph hitler made the best ham sandwhiches in the world, would you still buy them?

I don't like ham.

I know nothing about the antics of Samsung CEO (or verizon & google) but I bought their phone.

I remember before ATI came along I hated nVidia for buying up all the graphic card companies and merging into the only choice consumers had. Its stifled innovation to put out major updates to the technology and driver support was awful. They didn't have competition to drive them forward enough.
And even tho I'm not fond of that company I still buy their graphic cards every upgrade cycle if its the best price/performance ratio at the time.

I don't run these companies so I have no interest in caring about banning them. If I refuse to buy from them they will still exist. And theres no way possible for me to convince enough people to do otherwise.

Hopefully this isn't true but I checked out #samsung-fascinate (on irc.freenode.net) and the topic states: "THERE IS NO LEAKED FROYO DO NOT ASK FOR IT IT WAS A FAKE." Hopefully this is not true and/or maybe they are saying this to stop people from asking for a copy of the leak.

Someone came into IRC demanding a link to Froyo. He was harrased and BS links were dropping as jokes. I had renamed a dj05 rom and put froyoleak as the file name.
Like I said- it was during the time we were harrassing this person demanding.

That link created madness like a wildfire. I tried explaining but like a wildfire- you can't put it out yourself because its spreading too fast.

In hindsight I feel like a complete ****** for doing it. It got out of control fast and mirrors were made and within 5 minutes someone took it upon themselves to post it on XDA as the leak that was eluded to earlier in the day.

The whole fiasco lasted about 20minutes of everyone freaking out. I apologize to the IRC channel. My joke was a bad decision! Hindsight is 20/20.

That is why the status header says that. Otherwise what you read on Kaos twitter is true for all I know.

Gotcha. Although I am receiving mixed feedback from #fascinate (on IRC.Droid-Life.com)... Overall it looks like there is a leak, it just needs to be cleaned up to remove the watermarks. I'll continue to monitor the IRC channel and will report back if I hear anything different.

Not everyone was in the IRC when it all went down and its just word of mouth now until the story is something completely different.

Both JT and Kaos have eluded to a 2.2 leak. Kaos on twitter and JT on XDA. They are pretty much the top of the food chain in the dev community right now so theres your answer.

They probley should of never said anything because now everyone is koo-koo for cocoa puffs.

i know thier are opinions other than mine, and no matter how much i huff and puff and stomp my feet and throw out all these arguments that seem flawless and logical to me, folks will still disagree with me. but like i said i have an opinion and everyones eititled to it.

the iPhone was good to me.

The Fascinate has been fantastic for looking up the value of yard sale, flea market, and thrift store items. Verizon's service doesn't disappoint like AT&T's did.

The lack of updates for the phone is disturbing tho. Its the best phone for Verizon but it doesn't get updated. Thats not good. I need my updates. Need more functionality to make my life easier.

iPhone for Verizon coming.. sounds very tempting. iPhone is updated frequently. I will have to keep an eye out and see how that pans out. Might have to jump ship.

not even 1 update (can't count service updates) in the time I've owned the phone. Meanwhile iPhone has had a few.

I probably won't be able to jump ship for awhile anyway because I'm a new Verizon customer. The iPhone would cost me $650 since I'm so far away from new every 2 upgrade.

And I imagine they will be outrageously priced on eBay.

A close friend of mine is getting it when it comes out so I'm glad I get to test it out before making a decision anyhow.

I'm not get on here and condone the purchase of an iPhone, but anyone who purchases the Verizon iPhone on release day is CRAZY! Unless you have $1300 dollars in disposable income, you are out of your mind not to wait until the iPhone 5 comes out in June. Look I understand the excitement from people that are on AT&T, but anyone on Verizon currently with a smartphone has zero excuses for making the error in not waiting 6 months.

They just have to clean everything up so there are no traces of the leak. Once that is done they will release it
