Is anyone switching to an iphone??

The only thing so far that gives me a tinge of iPhone envy is battery life and the Siri app...but I've heard that Android has something similar, idk. The iPhone definitely is a nice phone and I do like the smoother scrolling and overall look, but my Evo just works for me. My girlfriends all have iPhones and are always talking about 'new 'features they discovered like its something exclusive, but my Evo does it all and better. AND--their pics look horrible uploaded to FB (they do look better on screen, that's about it). Nope, no switching for me...I'm waiting and hoping for HTC to come up with a newer version of the Evo.

Perhaps the EVO 4G LTE or the EVO 4G 2. #wouldmakemyday

Nice job on callin' the name...I'd expect it to be you CamelGuy. Back to the thread topic. No I won't be switching especially with the new Evo coming out. I get asked about my phone (OG Evo) all the time at work and elsewhere, mostly by iPhone owners. No one is asking about their device, just an observation. My gf told me that she will be switching in a few months when her contract is up but that's her decision. She has Apple everything at home so it makes sense for her. Me...not so much. I find those devices boring, including the iPad.

Why? Tell your family to use Skype instead of Facetime. Facetime only works if both parties are on WiFi and on iOS. You can use Skype over 3G/4G and from iPhone to Android to Mac to PC.

Can't believe anyone would consider switching for Facetime when it's the most limited video calling option around IMO. Yay, if I have an iPhone and you have an iPhone and we both happen to be in Wi-Fi at the moment, we can actually call each other. How convenient </sarcasm>

This is sad when people buy this. Fact is you can face time anywhere over the network. Like Android, a simple jailbreak takes a few minutes and is easy. After that limitations are gone and freedom has begun. Cydia is amazing...don't get tripped up on thinking you need to use crap like Skype...Aweful.

I am relatively new to the Android world and love it. At this time I have no reason to consider changing to the iPhone. I've been a PC guy (over Mac) from the very begining precisely because one can tweak and play with the syste. Thats what appeals to me about Android.

Not withstanding the foregoing, if Apple comes out with some kind of super iTV as is rumored, I might consider consolidating into the Apple world with a iMac, iPhone 5, iTV all to complement my iPod with I really like.

I was visiting my daughter for a week and her company has given each executive an iPad. The company created some very nice apps to make work easier and more accurate. But I played with it for a week and out side of the nifty work apps I could not see any reason that I would want one right now (or ever).

I have an Evo 4g and as of right now I plan to upgrade to Evo 4g LTE in July when my upgrade eligibility kicks in.

I'm considering switching back to it when the next version with Verizon LTE is release.

Ever since the last EVO update, that removed Carrier IQ was released, I've been disappointed with the phone. My WiFi has been messed up. Plus since I originally switched from an iPhone to Android I've been missing the unified inbox and folders. I know ICS and the Galaxy Nexus has these features, but I doubt it has as good a battery life as the iPhone. Plus I also miss the streamlined and minimalist interface of the iPhone.

But see that's the beauty of Android...you can make it as streamlined and minimalist as you want. If you are rooted (which I don't think you are), check out the MIUI rom. A lot of similarities to iPhone UI.

I never thought I would switch, seeing that Google & HTC lied about keeping android system updated, after less than two years with Evo 4G. I'm now considering getting the iphone against my own preferences. I don't want to be stuck a third time with an outdated android phone.

Try a Samsung Galaxy...ten times thw phone of a EVO 4G. My EVO wasnt bad...but my EVO 3D was much better and now I have a Galaxy S2 Epic Touch and it has been the best phone, and love it.

I'm not hating on the iPhone but the android is a better platform. It can do more.

Go Bucs!
