Is it me or is the finger print scanner crap?

I've registered several fingers, it takes several swipes to get it to work, I usually just get fed up with "scan slower" or " you didn't cover the pad" and enter the password. It never works first time

It is not the best on the S5 or the Note 4, the whole sliding thing is just not that great. You are better off just setting up a password or a PIN and calling it a day.

It is a bit lacking, I have the best luck by registering one finger (index) 3 times.

What I don't understand is, when setting up you've something like 8 scans to go through, with me it registers each and every time. You then lock the phone and go to unlock and nope damn all, 5+ swipes before it unlocks, pain in the arse that.

You have to put your finger on the glass and then slide down nice and slow. Oh and make sure you don't have any moister on your fingers or it wont work at all.

It's not just you, it really is pretty bad. I just use a pattern lock instead.

To play devil's advocate, the only time it gives me any trouble is after quite a bit of drinking - which is good because who really needs to send texts while intoxicated

It is crap. It doesn't work with my case.

Before the Samsung tweaked 5.0 lollipop dropped on my Sprint S5 the scanner was hit & miss often. After (at least in Sprints S5 version or Samsung's already tweaked 5.0 its quite a bit better (very seldom do I have to retry - unless alcohol is involved as stated).
Are you guys running KK or lollipop?
