Re: Is it too late to buy a nexus 5?
For what it's worth, I just bought a N5 32GB Black 2 hrs ago

For what it's worth, I didn't just buy a N5 32GB Black 2 hrs ago.
Of course it will (assuming you want a top tier smartphone). A year is a long time for technology.12 months from now it won't be too late.
the Nexus 5 will future proof you more than any other phone. also - other phones might be newer or have some neat new flashy gimmicks - but there's only one Nexus. and there's something very calming and comforting in that.
new phone just launched? cool new gimmick? who cares - i have the Nexus.
with a Nexus, you're on permanent auto-pilot - you will always get everything that Google and Android is willing to give, no more and no less. by enabling me to say "who cares" Nexus has liberated me from the feeling that I need to buy the hottest new phone du jour. that gives me more time and mental energy for the important things in life.
S5 will probably be full of more bloatware, and remember slow updates/outdated OS.
Was *finally* about to order one... says 3-4 weeks to ship? Ugh...
Get a red one. They're faster. Like sports cars.If you want a Nexus phone, go for it! The next edition won't be out for at least 8 months and the red one was only just released.![]()
I need a new phone, but I think that it might be too late for the nexus 5.
I can wait for the galaxy s5, but I would prefer a stock android experience.
There is a good chance that there will be a Google Play S5 which will be stock Android. It will be much more expensive than the N5, at least $250 more, maybe more than that. The 2K screen sounds cool, you'll need a pretty powerful set of reading glasses to take advantage of it. It will have a faster processor also but I doubt you'll notice the difference, the N5 is very snappy. Aside form that there isn't much you can do to improve on the N5. The N5's camera is really excellent, the S5 will have more megapixels but that isn't necessarily a good thing, smaller pixels are less light sensitive than larger pixels so the extra resolution comes with a significant downside.
For $50 more you wouldn't buy a Nexus 5 instead? (299/349 vs 349/399)I wish they still sold the Nexus 4 brand new because it's still not too late to buy those either.
