Is it too late to buy a Nexus 5?

Re: Is it too late to buy a nexus 5?

For what it's worth, I didn't just buy a N5 32GB Black 2 hrs ago.

Congratulations. Thanks for adding to the conversation.

Point is, people are still buying this thing. It's not too late because it's still got so much to give.

Bought my Nexus 5 last weekend when switching from AT&T to T-mobile. It is never to late.

If you want a Nexus phone, go for it! The next edition won't be out for at least 8 months and the red one was only just released. :-)

Re: Is it too late to buy a nexus 5?

Hi my name is Chuck and I am a phone addict.....well at least I used to be. I was on Verizon and kept switching phones every 4-6 months. Rather it was the battery of the Droid Maxx or the innovation of the Moto X or the coolness of the S4, I kept looking for something that would fully satisfy my craving. The Moto X was the closest of anything on Verizon ever that came close. Now that I have switched to AT&T and have the Nexus 5 I am cured. No S5 or M8 for this guy!!!!

So long answer short.....It will not be too late anytime in the near future to buy yourself a Nexus 5.

Re: Is it too late to buy a nexus 5?

the Nexus 5 will future proof you more than any other phone. also - other phones might be newer or have some neat new flashy gimmicks - but there's only one Nexus. and there's something very calming and comforting in that.

new phone just launched? cool new gimmick? who cares - i have the Nexus.

with a Nexus, you're on permanent auto-pilot - you will always get everything that Google and Android is willing to give, no more and no less. by enabling me to say "who cares" Nexus has liberated me from the feeling that I need to buy the hottest new phone du jour. that gives me more time and mental energy for the important things in life.

Re: Is it too late to buy a nexus 5?

The longer I have my N5 the more I appreciate having no manufacturer and carrier stuff on it. It's just so clean and light. I love it. Still as fast as when it came out of the box. :p

This is why I ordered one this morning to replace my aging htc vivid. Considered waiting for the upcoming One replacement but then thought of all the added crap. Don't feel like rooting or paying GPe prices.

Was *finally* about to order one... says 3-4 weeks to ship? Ugh...

S5 will probably be full of more bloatware, and remember slow updates/outdated OS.

Yes but they usually ship much sooner. Mine was 3 to 4 weeks on paper but I got it within 7 days.

There is a good chance that there will be a Google Play S5 which will be stock Android. It will be much more expensive than the N5, at least $250 more, maybe more than that. The 2K screen sounds cool, you'll need a pretty powerful set of reading glasses to take advantage of it. It will have a faster processor also but I doubt you'll notice the difference, the N5 is very snappy. Aside form that there isn't much you can do to improve on the N5. The N5's camera is really excellent, the S5 will have more megapixels but that isn't necessarily a good thing, smaller pixels are less light sensitive than larger pixels so the extra resolution comes with a significant downside.

I need a new phone, but I think that it might be too late for the nexus 5.

I can wait for the galaxy s5, but I would prefer a stock android experience.

No. It's not.

I wish they still sold the Nexus 4 brand new because it's still not too late to buy those either.

While that us generally true I find the picture quality a lot better on my Samsung galaxy s4 then the nexus 5 and even the pictures I took on the s3 was better even with the same megapixel camera at 8 mp. I love the ois on the nexus 5 which is why I prefer the nexus 5 over the gs4 but pure quality I would say the gs4 is better. I would buy the gs4 Google play edition if it was cheaper myself
