Is March 1st for real?

My dreams are crushed. It seems the Atrix is in fact being released on March 1st. Why?

The FCC Approval to Release Date usually takes about a month, leaving it toward the end of February.

Leaked Bell release date for the Atrix is March.

According to: AT&T may implement speed and data tiers for 4G LTE service | BGR | Boy Genius Report; enhancement for 4G billing, etc. is to start Feb. 20th.

That article is talking about LTE - not the HSPA+ "4G" that the Atrix will be running on. The Atrix is not an LTE device - so this article really has nothing to do with the Atrix release date.

Until I read something official from AT&T - I am still holding out for an early to mid February release.

Well that stinks. Not sure i like where they are heading with that. Almost makes me want to just get an ipod touch and dumbphone combo...hmmm thats starting to look more and more appealing.

Looks like it will hit Bestbuy warehouses by the 13th.. So the release date is likely later is it? March 1 again? Or am I missing something?

At my best buy we get the phones the day before the sale usually, and if our area rep gives us the go ahead well sell it on the spot

Andrea, thanks for your insight. One question: if it arrives in warehouses on the 13th, does that mean the stores will actually have it in their possession to sell on that day if authorized to do so?

Yes, preoder information would be greatly appreciated! If you don't get one on release date, i'm sure it might be weeks or months before getting you hands on one.

No way.. dont think you will have to wait.. maybe a day or 2 at the max.. since even bestbuy will release the phone... dont think this phone is comparable to the demand of iphone on verizon..

Speculation based on current rumors: BestBuy gets exclusive 2/13 and it is released to others on 3/1.
Of course the AT&T customer service people do not know anything yet either. I hope that I will be able to get an early upgrade, since my upgrade is not officially available until April.

Yes if authorized to do so and if in the store they could actually sell it that day. I think the dust is gonna settle superbowl sunday thats when the actual release date will be announced. I am gonna speak with my friend thursday so if anything changes i will post
