Hey guys, just want some input on this before I go update. I've heard mixed opinions about it. Thanks.

Not trying to mess up my phone lol.

5.0 to 5.0.2 have a memory leak, so I wouldn't put them on anything with less than about 8GB of RAM - which means not on any phone. 5.1 fixed that, so if you really want all that white (that's about all it is - a facelift), I'd wait for 5.1. I'm going to wait for something that deserves a full version number. For my money, LolliFlop is about 4.4.5.

I'm holding off on my phone. VZW just released it this month and there's no way I'm taking their 1st attempt at Lollipop.

Here's my question for you; is your phone operating and performing the tasks you want it to now and are you happy? If so, no don't upgrade. If not, ya, you might want to try out the new version. When it comes to smartphones, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I have no problem with my google account syncing on wifi (which I use at home exclusively). I'm on Lollipop for about 3 weeks now. Absolutely no problems at all.

Some people are having problems, but many people (on various carriers) are not.

It's unclear how many are having problems that are actually due to the update, & how many could fix their problems by doing a factory reset. Then of course, some problems might even be due to an app.

If you do decide to update - if you have any issues, make sure you backup your data & do a factory reset. If problems continue, start looking at the apps on your phone before declaring Lollipop is the culprit. There are a lot of people who are happy with the update :-)

The key is to backup data files ONLY. I think some people are mixing in system files. You have to be careful in these "backup and restore" apps what you are backing up initially.
