hey folks

Im getting a new phone today, but dont want an S6 or S7... basically I dont like the childish look of TW at all and, like Apple, they charge too much for them only because.. Theyre Samsung.. no thanks :)

I dont have the finances to fund the new M10 for 2 years, so was looking at an M9... I loved the Speakers on my old M8 (which i dont won now).. but my only reservation is the Camera.. which on the M9 I tried months and months ago was terrible..

I realise its not an S6 or a G4 and Im not into flashing camera mods and rooting permissions but how has the stock camera improved under MM. have HTC done much to fix the issues and is it still an all round worthy purchase

Thanks :)

You can get a new M9 (sealed box) on eBay for about $250. Also, Swappa mint condition units (sometimes new) for less. That's where I got mine. With that savings, can you live with camera issues? I'm not much of a camera user so I won't comment on your specific question. For me, the phone has a camera and it works so I'm happy. The fine quality of the device, its workmanship, Sense, dual speakers, snappy performance, Marshmallow, etc. are enjoyable!

I've been using it for a few months now and I really have no complaints. I can also get some really nice shots from the camera. I'm still hoping they will improve the camera app to be even better. The camera has really good potential.

It's definitely still worth it.

Keep in mind though that it's a phone, not a professionnal Canon camera worth $1,5K

The only phone that could replace this One, is coming out in 9 days. It's still absolutely worth it, unless you plan on getting the 10.

The ego did not post this

No, get a G4 instead and it's about the same price range on Swappa now.

M9 has a terrible screen, bad camera and overheating issues, also sometimes apps drain way to much power and the phone won't charge.

Dont make sense you can't look at this phone for 2 years with a bad screen.

The g4 is better imo

My M9 doesn't have a terrible screen, takes decent pictures, does't over heat ever, and the battery life is good, especially after the Marshmallow update... This phone was released before it was ready and now after all the updates is a really good phone. I've owned a lot of smart phones, including most of HTC's since the EVO, and this is my favorite, so far.

I'm a phone *****. I decided my M9 wasn't good enough, so I got the S6. After a few months the S6 started to act wonky. The battery would randomly drain quickly, and recently the phone would just randomly shut off.

So I've gone back to my M9, and it's been wonderful.

The M9 is a great phone. Ever since nextel bit the dust and Motorola made me mad, 1st the EVO, then the M7 and now the 9. Good stuff.

For $250 I paid for it new when Best Buy was cleaning it out a month or so ago, it is well worth the money. If you have to pay full list price or anything over $300, there are better phones out there for that price, e.g. Nexus 5X.
