Is the S20 Ultra a failure?

That's why I called it my wish list ;)

But if they come out with two models with a Note 20 Lite... a S20+ sized Note with same processor, the camera setup I mentioned but 4000mah battery. I'd really consider something like that.

I really think the S20+ is the sweet spot model this year of the three. A Note 20 lite would be the sweet spot for me.

If they fit the Ultra sized camera system along with the s-pen then it will be bigger phone than the Ultra 6.9"... a 7.1" display... you'll need the 5000mah battery for the bigger screen to run 120hz at QuadHD and it will be in a bigger form anyways so no need to skimp on battery. Ugh, just too big for me.

I don't think it will happen

I didn't get a sense of bias when watching this video. I think he was giving an honest opinion about the s20 ultra. That is the best Samsung phone on the market right now and there is no reason why the camera should be as poor as it is.

He is also right about the camera working well out of the box. If I spend 1500 bucks on a phone, the camera should not have issues. My pix 3a is over 1000 bucks less than the s20 ultra and my camera can do better than that.

Step up the camera Samsung.

I guess you haven't seen the video where the Pixel didn't do do well. The 3a is 1000 cheaper because it's a much more basic device. As an auto shooter it does a great job but you can't get anywhere near to the quality of the zoom on the Ultra and you have no wide angle camera.

I hear you but I believe we will see 3 models.

No one talks about single shot mode , how is it ?

Seen footage of the 100x zoom camera and it is straight garbage and pointless to have. For my usage the pixel camera is rock solid right out of the box.

I'll give you the fact that it has less features (which I'm more than good with and don't need a wide angle cam) but you can't expect people to spend that kind of money on a phone when the camera is sub par.

There is no way a previous gen Note 10 cam should beat the top of the line s20.

No excuses Sammy dropped the ball with the cam.

The 100x zoom is a max setting and it does serve a purpose just not a purpose you can think of till you try it. Try Max zoom on your device and see what it gets you. The beauty of the 100x is between 4x and 30x where it does a great job. You can even zoom out further and still get some usable shots but you have to keep in mind you wouldn't get them at all with other devices. You really have to use it for awhile to appreciate it and not just go by a few samples in a review or in a store.
I have the S10+, Note 10+ and the Ultra. The Note 10 might be better at things but not all things. If I had to pick one it would be the Ultra because money is not in my equation. There are pictures I can take with the Ultra that I can't get with the 10 series so for me it's difficult to say the Note 10 is better because it just isn't. Are there there pictures in certain examples where the Note 10 does better....yes. Is it easy to justify spending less for a Note 10, S10 or even the S20....yes. That's a personal decision and I don't make decisions based on price

I think you mean Single Take. It's a fun mode and it does some interesting things.
You will automatically get a short movie, a few GIF like funny animations, a bunch of stylized photos and some other stuff in one take. It's only practical if the scene you're taking has movement so it's great with kids and pets but you could probably have a lot of fun with other moving stuff. You can read about in this link.

Oh cool , it should be coming to Note 10 with april update with 2.1 UI
So this should be perfect for people complaining about movement with kids, pets, etc.

I tried it twice and didn't see any issues with movement but the camera uses AI to pick everything so you don't get a lot of choice. I think a better option is to take frames from the 8K video because then you can pick the shots you want.
The easiest thing to fix motion blur us to go into Pro Mode and just set a higher shutter speed but most people don't want to set up the camera ahead of time. I understand some times it's not practical and there are some missed opportunities.

Oh ok gotcha

Personally I haven't use zoom on my Pixel 4 or Note 10 even once, so to me 4x 30x 100x all useless. I like the approach S20 takes with 64mp camera, you can use it for zoom or just take regular more detailed images

Definitely a optical 3X to 5 or 10X that's as good as 1x would be good... you're at a stadium or at a graduation/presentation a 2X/3X would really come in handy if as clear as 1X. Yeah anything higher probably doesn't get as much use or useless if the image like face is too blurry. 100X is just a gimmick.

Zoom is important to me. Concerts, sporting events, wildlife photography, etc. I filmed most of my concerts and sporting events last year with the 2x telephoto lens because the normal 1x lens doesn't even seem 1x and makes everything so small and far away looking. Like ever see a giant full moon and snap a pic with your cell phone and it comes out just a tiny little dot in your photo? That's why zoom is important to me.

Here's an example of even being close up I had to use the 2x telephoto on the S10 to make what I seen come out similar size to what my eyes see..

It's almost like 1x is the reverse binocular effect and makes things seem farther away than they actually are. If I would of took that pic with the 1x the photo would of looked like I was standing farther away than I actually was but the 2x telephoto looked about exactly like my eyes seen distance & size wise.

Of course when I was at Monster Jam or Supercross at Metlife Stadium the S20U zoom would of been godsend even though I had good first few row seats, being able to get much better long distance pics when the action was on the other side of the field from my seat was would of been a game changer.

If you're not using zoom you're just not a power user that cares about getting the best pics. Even this pic below I was using 8.9x zoom at a certain distance to get the bokeh effect that I was looking for that wouldn't have been possible with 1x or no zoom. The more lenses and options I have, the better photos and videos I can take. I could of stood close and used no zoom, but to get the bokeh effect I was looking for I had to back up and use 8.9x zoom:
