Is the S20 Ultra a failure?

Those rumors have been around at least since the Note 7 debacle. If anything they'll just merge the top of the line S with a Note's SPen and call it a day. People think the Note line is so great b/c of the SPen. Personally I also like the boxier design better on the Note as well.

I am thinking the complete opposite - I think the S-pen will fall to the wayside. The S-pen is the reason why I never cared for the Note series. I don't need / or want a pen with my smartphone - I never understood the popularity with that? It just seems so gimmicky, and I would never use it. My swiftkey keyboard is all I need, not a Pen.

Yeah I also like the boxier design than the round ones. Not that big of a deal but if someone says prefer one I'll go with the Note's boxier design.

Yeah the Note 20 will be just a little better S20, but mostly for who didn't buy S20 because of the S Pen. But they may also take the feedback from the Ultra camera and incorporate that into Note 20. Especially interesting to see if they will still with the in-house camera sensor or go with the tried and tested Sony one. I do hope they stick with their own since Ultra does take amazing pics majority time.

I certainly hope they don't back peddle on the Sammy Sensor. Once the zoom kicks in a 4X it's a beast.

For as little as I use the Spen it's still a great tool especially for precision work.

Let's hope. Renders look like the camera is more S20+ sized which looks better. 108mp camera is fine but don't care for the gimmicky 100x zoom and if they can shrink the camera setup to a + size and learn from the Ultra bugs and give an improved camera with an 10x optical zoom that could get over that "top three camera" hump I'd be happy. I'm guessing no getting around it will be Ultra sized to fit the s-pen and of course have to take a 500mah battery hit at 4500mah, but with thinner battery and wishful thinking + type camera dimensions that maybe it can be 1mm thinner to 7.8mm + spec.

And... don't make it more than the $1399 Ultra. End of my wish list lol.

It's not 100 percent. Honestly have no real issues with the current FPS but I'll take any improvement.

I've seen renders that show an Ultra model with an Ultra sized module. I think you're going to see the same configurations as the S20s. The 100X is just the max it zooms out to which isn't much different than any other zoom except you have a longer spread. When you go Max zoom on most devices the shots aren't great. I have no issues with the zoom quality from 4X to 30X. If you want something in a plus size you have that with Note 20+ but that means the smaller sensor.

I'm hoping abandoning the 100x zoom will eliminate the need for the periscope system reducing camera size or reduce size to just give a clean 10x optical zoom and then they can go 20-30x digital if they want.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro was able to use the same 108mp Samsung sensor, get new top score in zoom category with 5x zoom without the huge camera square... and they got a dxomark score of 124. Samsung can push to 10x. 100x just trying to top Xiaomi for bragging rights... what they got was the label 100x zoom "creep mode"
