Is there a way to change the clock on the lock screen on the S8?

Yup... Weird looking without notifications.... Normal looking when there are notifications on lock screen...

I went into the settings for the AOD clock, pressed the stacked clock option, then it gave me other options to choose. I chose the normal horizontal digital look, and pressed apply. Has been working ever since on the lock screen.

Everyone I figured it out.

Go to settings.
Click on lock screen and security.
Scroll down and click on Always on Display
Then under clock style, choose the style you want.
Click on that clock and then you can customize it from there.

You're welcome.

As stated multiple times on the first page, this only changes the clock for the AoD, not the lockscreen. This thread pertains to the lockscreen only

I used the Theme: sd-Black and solved the main problem. This does not solve the stock lock screen clock layout issue. That still needs to be solved. Thanks.

Download a weather app (Weatherbug) and leave the Notifications on at least til they update. Now they just need an update to move the fingerprint scanner 😂😂

WB was a great fix! I was looking for a good weather app anyway and forgot all about WB. Plus, it gives me the temp on the AoD as well. I like it, thanks!

I have Beautiful Widgets, and putting the weather temperature on the status bar from that also works. As others have said, if you have a notification then the Lock Screen looks normal. This is indeed a good solution and it does also show the Temperature on the AoD screen. I usually do have the temperature on my tablets anyway, so also doing it on the S8+ is not that big of a deal since I already am using the weather app anyway, it is just one setting to show the temperature on the bar.

I don't like the always on display. Especially cause I have my phone in meetings and stuff. So, if I need to check the time and/or date, which I am doing constantly, I press the on button, which displays the lock screen and that aweful, just can't believe the software designers still have jobs, clock! But, I agree, always on users probably wouldn't notice it so much.

This what I was looking for thanks

They have a couple of clock styles to choose from.

"Settings" > "Lock Screen and Security" > TAP the "Always On Display" (like the words, not the switch) > TAP "Digital Clock" (or the other clock styles if you want analog or something) > on the bottom left there's "Clock Styles" which give 4 different digital clock styles to choose from.

Or you can choose the other clock styles outside of the digital clock section.

I just did this on my S8+ right now.

Re: This what I was looking for thanks

We ARE NOT talking about the always on display.

Jesus.....I don't know how many times we have to say this!

Settings- lock screen- facewidgets-roaming clock.... by going to these I finally am ok with the clock!!! SUCCESS!!!

The only way I have been able to do it is to choose a theme where the clock is acceptable, then change my wallpaper (on the home screen only), then change my icons.

I too hate the 2 line clock and I found a way but it's not ideal. I found on XDA forum someone changed the opacity of the clock to invisible and placed a live wallpaper with his own clock. Click https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ion-ui-overlay-overlays-t3604341/post73076098

You will need the LockTransClock_AQG5.apk file. This apk only makes the lockscreen clock invisible so it is actually still there. Only downside is that it will also make other text invisible of your lockscreen such as the standard message of "swipe to unlock" and when you plug in your charger the text of how long it thinks it will need to charge to 100% can not be read. Although the charge time can be read ones you unlock in notifications.

Try this.
Setting
Lock screen and security
Notifications

Turn it on. But then turn "all apps" off.

Now check the lock screen -it worked for me

This is what I did as well, the only thing I did differently is I allowed the weather icon to be on the lock screen. Works perfectly.

I'm new to Samsung but I want to change the clock layout on the lock screen. Is there a way to do that?

I enabled my Accuweather (4.9.1 paid) settings to "On-going Notifications" so that it would give me the temperature on the status bar.
Doing that also puts it in the Lock Screen and then changes the clock to a "normal" horizonal display.
FYI: I do NOT have AOD enabled.
