Hi guys. So I've got a TCL phone (the Nxtpaper 50 5G if that matters) and I got myself a case with a lid. What I want to achieve now is to make the screen wake up when I open the lid and to turn off when I close it, without pressing the power button. The screen offers adaptive brightness so there must be some sensor to make this too work but in the native settings menu there is no option to get it wake or sleep in any way other than the button. Is there an app that can provide this functionality?

Not sure if such an app exists, but if it does, I'm guessing it would kill your battery pretty quickly. The ambient light sensor isn't active unless the screen is on. An app like what you're looking for would have to either find a way to bypass the screen state so the sensor can be on at all times, or keep the screen on with a blank display at all times.

Most phones that offer this have a magnetic switch that mechanically activates the display, so the sensor isn't drawing power at all times, just when it latches on because a magnet (from the case cover flap) is present.
