Is TMobile's $30 4G plan gone?

Activate online, should not have to call as they will always ask that question. I know of many people who can do it all from TMobile website including myself.

+1...Using the website is the best way to go about it.

I purchased the Nexus 4, got the sim from T-Mobile store and $30 pre paid card from walmart. I called T-Mobile prepaid to active the plan and they said my phone wasn't purchased at Walmart I could not get the $30 deal. Anybody have any idea's what I should try now?

If you got the sim from T-Mobile, did it come with an activation code? The code is needed to activate online.

I tried to activate the plan on my.t-mobile but there was no option for it and that is why I called. No activation code, I think that was my problem, when I bought the sim t-mobile activated it in the store. The t-Mobile sales person told me all I had to do was get the $30 card from walmart and add it to my account and switch to the walmart plan. So as an alternative, is it possible to simply buy the cheapest walmart t-mobile prepaid phone and activate it and put the sim into my Nexus 4? The t-mobile prepaid help desk seem to imply there is something special with the walmart phones that identify it on there network. Thanks for your help

The part where you choose plans shows up later after you have to enter the sim card number and activation number. Since you don't have an activation number, you probably couldn't have gone far enough to see the plan choices.

Order a sim card on the T-Mobile site and it will come with an activation code and then you can sign up for the plan.

I have also read that people have bought a cheap prepaid phone, activated it and then transferred the sim over to their unlocked phone and it worked without a problem.

can anybody tell me what exactly I need to get this plan?
1. A sim card from T-mobile with serial number
2. An activation code from Walmart
Anything else??
Will Walmart sell me the $30 prepaid plan activation code with purchasing a phone from them?
Thanks

If you order from the T-Mobile website, you get a SIM activation kit that has a SIM card and an activation code. The whole thing is sealed in a plastic bag. You can also buy a SIM activation kit at Wal-Mart for about $40, which appears to have a $30 credit for your first month of service (but ask someone in the store to verify this before you leave).

If you buy a phone from Wal-Mart, the plastic bag with the SIM card and activation code is inside the box that contains the phone. As far as I know, all the T-Mobile phones that Wal-Mart sells use a regular SIM, not a micro SIM. However, you can buy a micro SIM cutter from Amazon to cut down the SIM card to the correct size, then use a nail file to sand down the SIM card so that it is thinner. You need to sand the SIM card because regular SIM cards are thicker than micro SIM cards.

sorry I'm confused. According to what you said, I don't have to buy anything from Walmart if I get a sim activation kit from T-mobile?
Also, is a phone purchased from Walmart required for activating this $30 prepaid plan?
Thanks!

No you get the sim card from TMobile website. You don't need to get a phone at Walmart. Just follow the instructions that come with the kit you got from TMobile website. Should take 5 minutes to set up. It's very easy. All you need is your unlocked phone and your kit.

Thanks for replying.
Just to confirm, so I have to get the activation kit (sim card) either from T-Mobile or Amazon, and another activation code that comes with the $30 refill from Walmart.com.
Total two things. Is that correct?

Unless it's changed since I got the N4 in February, all you have to do is order the SIM kit from TMO and then call them to activate it when you receive it. That's when you can choose the payment, such having TMO debit your credit card every month to refill. No Walmart necessary.

All you need is the activation kit from T-Mobile. Once you get that, you go to the T-Mobile site and click on Activation to sign up for the $30 plan. You won't see it offered until you actually get to the part where you select the plan you want.

You don't need to go to Walmart for anything.

Don't call TMobile as they will ask you if you got your phone at Walmart. Do it all online and you should not have any problems.

Thanks for all of you who replied above...
please allow me to ask one more stupid question..
Amazon.com: TMobile 4G Micro Sim Card MicroSim for iPhone 4 Unactivated T-MOBILE SIM CUT: Cell Phones & Accessories
is the kit in the link above that I need for this plan?
Thanks

It does not appear to be the right one. There are some Amazon customers who posted comments saying that the SIM card does not come with an accompanying activation code, so they're useless. I would recommend just ordering a SIM card directly from T-Mobile.

No problem! T-Mobile and Wal-Mart made getting this plan sound really complicated, which is a shame because it's very popular. The bottom line is that you don't have to buy anything at all from Wal-Mart. If you order the micro sim card activation kit from the T-Mobile prepaid website, you'll get everything that you need.

I see.. Thank you.
So is "T-Mobile? Micro SIM Card Activation Kit" which is on Tmo's website and costs $10 the right one?
If yes then I will get it from T-Mobile directly.

Hey how did your friend get that plan ? Can you help me to get that plan ? i bought that kit from warlmat and i call the customer service, they give me 1500 talk & message, 30MB WEB. not the plan i want.

Don't get the kit from Walmart! You can only get it online and can only get the $30 prepaid plan online through the TMobile website, nowhere else unless you want to get a headache trying to get it activated.
