Issues AFTER 2.3.340 Update!!!

The 1-year warranty is a manufacturer's warranty, so Verizon can't do much about it. He would have to contact Motorola about sending it to them and having them fix it, only downside is not having a phone to use and the unknown length of time without it, unless he has a backup to use temporarily.

I warrantied out 4 bb storms and 2 bb tours within my "one year warranty" period. Verizon handles it all, and pretty well at that.

I have had phone freeze/reboot issues. Upon waking the phone and beginning to slide to unlock, the phone freezes and reboots.

I have done two factory resets now and it sill does it.

My phone goes from 100% to less than 15% in 8hrs and I have my phone battery managed not to sync during that time period. I have the extended battery and have never had this problem before. Only had the batter for about 3 months, don't know if it is the batter or the update. WTF. Very angry.

Just checked battery usage, phone idle and cell standby combined were using almost 80 percent of my battery life during the night. WTF is going on?

Same problem here. It just started happening the last two days. I ahve the extended battery. I went from 100 last night to 20 at 7 this morning.

Complete Garbage Update

Is this a joke on Motorola's part? Seriously? Ever since I did the update, my phone has been dragging little by little until today. It is currently UNUSABLE. Constant freezing and lockups, force closes, and reboots. I did not change or install anything new.
I was thinking about doing a factory reset again. In fact, we shouldn't have to do factory resets every time an update comes out. Do they not properly test their builds? I'm coming from a BB and I played first hand with crappy OS builds because of RIM and their poor testing.
I really hope this factory reset fixes these issues. I got this device on 2.1 and thought it was a gift from god. Now 2 updates later and I can't even stand to hold it.

glad im not the only one noticing terrible battery life. I rebooted my phone today at 2:50pm, went into the battery manager right now and my cell standby "battery used by cell radio... time on was 6h 0m 4s at 5:55pm, 6h but the phone has only been on for 3h 0m 12s "since unplugged" wtf is going on with that? my time without a signal was at 50% my crappy vzw work phone, some motorola flip phone had signal the whole day, sitting in the same spot. This update definitely jacked with the radio or something on this phone. Im now down to 30% battery

display 50%, on 51m
cell standby 13%; 50% time without a signal; time on 6h0m4s
phone idle 6% 2h 9m 53s
wifi 6% time on 3h 4m 22s
android system 6% 4m 45s cpu time
android OS 6% 3m 56s
browser 4% 2m 59s
media server 2% 1m 10s
com.motoroal.providers.blahblahbalbh 2% 1m 17s
text messaging 2% 1m 26s
swiftkey trial 2% 1m 3s

so you are telling me that 51 minutes of the display being on causes my battery to dump 70%. Is the time listed under cell standby since it was unplugged last, what the heck is going on with this? I barely used the phone today, it sat in my pocket

im convinced the battery manager is the equivalent of the little microsoft windows installation blue bar that goes across the screen that says 1 second remaining, and sits there for 45 minutes until its done.... i declare shennanigans

Problems with lag, reboots, freezes and battery drain were all solved on my phone by doing a factory reset. Not pretty, but has remained very stable and great battery life since.

im tired of factory resets, its so tedious to restore the settings and individual ringtone settings for most of my 160 contacts.... the droid needs a backup/restore option similar to the bb

The only issues I have noticed are the picture gallery loads very slow now. And I have the occasional random reboot and my battery goes faster or seems that way i might just be using the phone more Overall the phone is way more stable then the previous update and im happy

I came from BB too, back-up sucks on Droid phones. But contacts are not a problem, just use the backup assistant or Gmail. Re-install of apps and settings is tedious. Someone mentioned MyBackup Pro in the market as app to use. $5 price tag on something that should be standard on device in my opinion.

Factory reset does suck, but so does lagging and rebooting. Day 5 after reset and all is still running fine. I'd say drop the 5 bucks on the backup and do factory reset if you are having problems after OS "upgrade" (and I use that term very loosely).

another bug i noticed, not sure if it was there previously, but the camcorder... from day 1 when i got it it would default to HD 720 video mode. The other day i wanted to mms someone a video so i switched it to qvga... now it always defaults to qvga after a reboot and i manually have to switch it to HD every time after a reboot. Anyone know how to get these settings to stick?
