I don't care when it rolls out as I am not taking it. I am going to wait until the dust settles and the issues are worked out. Plus it breaks the entitlement check for my free hotspot so I don't know if I will ever accept it.

Smart man! The last update kept it intact so I rushed in like a fool!

A number of the folks on moto's forums indicate that the update downloaded and installed on its own without any intervention or warning.

I spoke too soon, I have to turn the Bluetooth off and on manually to get it to connect :-(

Funny, my experience is exactly the opposite.

My BT remains broken. The difference is now it knows it is not connected, which is an improvement. I was streaming music on my commute today which reminded me how well my BT worked with the initial OS.

I installed wallet and it looks like tap to pay should work. It pulled my old receipts and card data in. I will confirm in the morning when I make my normal coffee run.

Downloaded on its own but didn't install on its own. It asked if I wanted to install.

So I can stick with Jellybean? After reading about the problems people are having I'd prefer not to have it.

Well yes, I suppose so. Specifically it said "install now" or "install later" I believe. But I really don't know why you don't want it. I think there's too much being read into the few who have had any issues. I have had none and it's been great. I am glad to have it!

What problems? After a few days with KK I haven't come across anything that has made regret having it for even a second, I'd like to know what problems I'm missing out on.

I'm pretty much in agreement. Besides the one problem with the home button, I've had a better experience with my phone in the last few days than I've had since I got it. the Camera is better, the phone is faster, Touchless Controls are somehow more responsive than before, and even Google Music now has truly Gapless Playback which it didn't before.

I don't know if this is all because I factory reset the phone or from the update alone, but I'm loving this phone.

The reason I don't want to install KitKat is the hotspot feature. Right now it is free. I did the Entitlement check hack. On Kitkat I would have to pay. I am still on unlimited data too.

I'm also on unlimited data and KK didn't effect that at all.?

Westiemom,

You mean you had a free hotspot before KitKat and retained the free hotspot after? And you are on unlimited? And you don't pay for it? Wow! You are lucky! On Jellybean I did not have a free hotspot until I installed MotoRoot and rooted my phone and then changed the Entitlement Check. Did you do any of that or how did you get a free hotspot?

No, I did not say I had a free hot spot, just unlimited data. And I didn't lose unlimited data after the update. It kind of sounded like you were afraid you would lose your unlimited data plan after the update. Or are you saying you have a "work around" for unlimited data like you do for the hotspot? That would be a different story I'm sure.

Oh and also, if you are rooted then I wouldn't take the update. I have not rooted my phone. That's a different story too!

No, I think you misunderstood. I have no worries about keeping unlimited data with an update to KitKat. That is a non-issue. It's the native hotspot I'm concerned about. Because I have unlimited data I do not get the hotspot free from Verizon. I would have to pay for it. But under Jellybean I was able to do a hack and get it free. KitKat un-does the hack and unless we get root for KitKat that is that. No free hotspot for unlimited users. Now if you have a shared data plan you are not affected. You have the free hotspot with Jellybean or KitKat. Does that explain it?

Sure. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
