ordered htc 10

Hi anyone order the htc10 and never got an email confirmation. I bought one and i still havent gotten an email. Jus wondering if i am the only one. I chose overnight shipping so i dont know if i am going to get it today.

I've had an abysmal experience actually getting my 10 to me in the UK direct from HTC. Made a mistake in the original order and they seemingly couldn't cancel it in two days between processing and shipping (yes, the mistake is on me, but they had ample time to help me rectify it). Now I have a phone here I can't open and getting adequate instructions on how to return it is a nightmare!

The other issue is the fact they use Hermes as their courier in the UK. I missed delivery this morning and they've selected me an alternative delivery date for a day I know I'm not gonna be in and they won't let me change it because allegedly that comes under HTC customer service, and God forbid they have to take responsibility for something in their possession. Support has just been terrible from both HTC and Hermes. If you're buying in the UK, don't buy direct from HTC - it's just a hassle.

Call them. They'll certainly have more info about your order than we do.
 
So, I just placed my new order. Here's hoping it goes through ok. I called to get the $100 credit, but they said the order was still in review (I called right after I submitted). I should have just placed the order over the phone. One really interesting note, there is a difference in my confirmation emails between the two orders. On my original order that was messed up, in the lower right, it showed "VISA *****". On my new order, it showed "VISA *1234" (where 1234 are the last 4 of my credit card). At this point, my guess is that by selecting paypal, it flagged the order as paypal, and ignored any credit card input. Clearly, it's a bug in their system.

Hopefully I'll have no problem getting my $107 (after tax) discount back. I highly doubt I'll ever see any free gift for pre-ordering. I'll wait to see what it is, then perhaps a twitter campaign would be in order.

Edit: And now my card has been charged. Hopefully no more glitches. I got a decent scare last night as both the gray and sliver showed "coming soon" in their store. However, this morning, only the gray still showed coming soon, and the silver was in stock.

An update... the same day I got the phone I got an automated email that they were going to refund $100, and sure enough, there was a credit to my account. So, I have my phone and it's awesome. I'm still really curious as to what the free gift will be.

For those still on the fence, I believe the code HTC1011 still works for $100 off. Wish I'd have known that when I ordered mine as it would have saved some hassle.

It certainly seems like HTC is still just a phone OEM for other people with no understanding of public facing customer support. It's the one major area that they need to improve worldwide.

Agreed. But at least when I emailed them, they said they would strongly look into approving their customer service.

I just got mine too put it hasnt shipped yet. It said in stock and i paid for overnight shipping. It says its pending

I pre-ordered mine on 4/29 and it still showed as "Boxed Shipment" as of 5/16. Apparently the credit card did not go through (Capital One automatic protection kicked in and blocked the $600 charge since I normally don't use that card for anything over $100). 35 minutes on the phone with HTC to cancel the order, reorder it, have the first card declined, and then finally got it right with a second card. HTC rep was friendly enough on the phone but it was slow and I'm dissapointed that they didn't reach out to me to let me know the card was declined.

5/17: Second card was also declined a day later after it was approved over the phone but I least received an email notification this time. I called the CC company and they said everything was good on my end - plenty of credit and no spending limits so this one is on HTC/Digital River. Called to verify CC information and they canceled the order and told me to reorder online with the new discount code HTC1011.

A little worried about my new order. The phone actually said out of stock but the order went through, and my CC was instantly charged. Just sitting there as pending right now.

I've noticed their site is a bit funky at times like that. I've seen it say out of stock, then it's in stock on a different browser. I think you should be good if your card was charged.

Here's hoping. Just sent my first one back to them, so hoping I get my new one soon. I also paid for 1 day shipping.
 
Plot twist, sold my 10 to a friend because the colors were way off on the camera compared to my iPhone. BUT I MISS EVERYTHING ELSE. and now I want it back, perhaps tomorrow from T-Mobile.

Don't do it man... I can't go back to carrier dictated updates. It's unlocked or iPhone from now on.

I called into PayPal, they said the would research it and get back to me within 48 hours. They were really nice. I'm guessing they will honor it given that it was offered that way. I'll share what happens when I hear back from them. By the way, I love my new phone! Waiting rather impatiently for my Ice View case and extra C-type USB cable. However, I did order a non-expensive case from Amazon until it arrives. Usually when I've ordered accessories they ship within a couple days. I order them 4/29 and still no change from boxed shipment. They are likely shipping phones first.

So I received an email on the 12th from PayPal: "Dear 1mysteree:

So I waited the 48 hours, no change to the promotional period. I called in this morning and they stated that they couldn't extend the promotional period. Why no just say that in the letter rather than give a blanket statement and have me guessing whether or not they have granted my request. Long story short, HTC has now changed the wording on the PayPal credit option. So guess I'll have to pay my phone off by October.

Still haven't received my accessories! WTF!
 
  • My pre-order from 4/29 was declined.
  • When I reordered on 5/16 it went thru and was canceled by HTC on 5/17. I was told to reorder.
  • Promo code HTC1011 is dead for me as of 5/19.


I emailed orderconfirmation@digitalriver.com and asked them to honor the pre-order price from when I originally ordered 4/29 but I don't have high hopes for an answer.

Anyone else have any other ideas on who to contact? I've already called in twice and don't feel like dealing with phone calls again.
