"I've ordered my Nexus 5X" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

My phone came at 10:45 this morning, just as I was leaving for a meeting at 11a.m.

I was able to go to t-mobile to set it up today. LOVE the phone. I'm still putting all of my apps back on it.

I ordered a 32GB carbon Nexus 5X on 10/15 via the Project Fi site (i.e., SIM card, account , etc.) and am, also, fortunate enough to say I got an email from Project Fi providing a FedEx tracking # today. My status sat in the Processing stage for 3 days switching to shipped today.

For those dealing with the negative aspect of the sometimes more efficient Last In, First Out (LIFO), versus the pro-consumer First In, First Out (FIFO), I wish to offer my sincere empathy as I have been there. I hope for everyone, that this phone is at least as good as the OnePlus One and the previous Nexus 5. Oh yeah, interested to see how Project Fi is as well. Good luck everyone!

Recieved my 5X quartz today. Now waiting on the sim card. Nobody at Fi support able to say why it is taking so long. Went into processing same day as phone but still not shipped.

How many people have this phone and are unable to use it because Fi fullfillment is dsyfunctional?

Finally got my shipping notification for my Ice 16GB ordered on the 1st. One of my classmates also ordered a Carbon 32GB on the 20th. Ours shipped at the same time... Nothing from FedEx yet, probably tomorrow.

Shipped: Wednesday, 10/21(just shipping label, no actual package activity until 10/22)
Scheduled delivery: Today, 10/23
Today: Received email re: redeeming $50 Play credit.
TBD: credit card charge...free phone?! (Kidding, surely they'll charge me at some point, or already did and my bank is slow)

Now crossing fingers the FedEx delivery person will leave the package at my apartment in my absence and that my 3pm-5pm meeting will get canceled...

So after all my struggles with them, I finally got the shipping notice last night. I am happy the phone is coming, but I am still annoyed. The chat guy said it wasn't shipping until Friday. I cannot believe how far their heads are up their behinds in regards to the logistics, notifications, and service. Good thing they are already a huge company, because if this was them just starting, they are really no better than One Plus at this point. Everyone crushed them for their inabilities, but at least they admit so.

Scheduled delivery: 10/28 which is after when it was promised. Coming from california to utah does not take 6 days.
Today: Received email re: redeeming $50 Play credit.

I did not pay for next day shipping but still should have got shipping label before people who ordered last week!

I feel you man, they messed up my first order and cancelled it without letting me know. I had to go through 5 reps over the course of 9 says to figure it out. Just got notification of my phone shipping yesterday 24 days later and having to place two orders.

Pretty good so far. I spent a fair amount of time getting the device somewhat set back up. I still have some of my own core apps to install, as I was mainly messing around with basic settings like vibrate off, DND set up, opening every app I use at least once (to get rid of the 'Welcome' screens) etc...

Just got my Nexus 5X in yesterday. Liking it so far. Going to take some getting used to coming from the Nexus 4 as far as size. Some things Im not liking are the removal of the Power Control widget. I used that for my WiFi, BT, Sync, and brightness toggles. A lot faster than swiping down twice or doing a two-finger swipe down. Might just download the source code and re-build it. Was not expecting the 5 columns and 5 rows of icons, so another thing to have to get used to from having a 4x4 grid. Battery life seems ok so far. Started the day around 8:15am with 100% and am now (1:30pm) at 91% from mild usage. Overnight battery drop is great. Went to bed with 96% and woke up with 94%. The USB cable is a tad snug with the $20 Adopted case. The I ended up having to shave down the USB-C port end for the cable in my car so I could plug it in without forcing it.

The finger print touch sensor is really fast to turn the screen on and it bypasses the lock screen (I didnt realize it would do that, just thought it would wake the phone up if you have a lock screen password/gesture). Topped off at about 50Mbps on a speed test on AT&T in Clermont, FL.

When I first set up the phone, it did not give me the option to put in my Gmail account so that it would restore it. Haven't had it for a full day yet, so can post later on if anyone has questions.

Just got my 5x tonight and can't get the sim card working. Now I'm reading about this Band 12 ****. If it can't read the sim at all is that a Band 12 issue or not? I can't get any service at all. I'll try to go to ATT and see if their sim will work but it might be the phone. What a pain in the ***.
