If I'm being charged, I should have a tracking number. That's my benchmark. Label creation is one of the marks that a tracking number can show, so I'd feel a lot better about being charged if I immediately had a number to associate with paying that much money.

They probably just stole your money and won't ever ship it.

A company the size of Google should not have these shortcomings.

Last year was a debacle.... The Nexus 5 went pretty darn good... The Nexus 4 was a debacle... Almost seems like every other year has issues.

This year really isn't one of them. They went up for preorder on 9/29 right after the official reveal and announcement.... Was pretty smooth and easy... Even hours and hours after I placed my order you could still preorder and it all seemed to go smoothly. At the announcement Google said the devices would begin shipping late next month (October) and they have begun to ship late next month.... Actually they are shipping a little sooner than what was said... The EARLIEST ship dates I saw from anyone who ordered from Google was October 27 and it looks like those devices started to ship October 23rd.

Mine had an October 30 estimated ship date so if it ships any time before that is just a bonus.....

Hard to compare to Apple... They product just two phones now and have legions of fans... Where as Android is very badly fragmented among a bunch of different MFG's.. Nexus is not meant to be a commercial hit and I am sure the guys who get "Picked" to make a Nexus device take a ton of risk and can't just stamp out 20 million units to be ready to launch right away, they probably use preorders to gauge what they should make...

Exactly. I know they don't make a ton of money selling the nexus line. It would be dumb to make 3 million of each size and color of these phones and hope they all sold. Apple can crank out tons and be sure that they are going to move.

I'd also like to suggest that much of the reason for the early Nexus announcement was Chromecast -- Google was going to have a product announcement and found it more efficient, as well as getting more publicity for the new Chromecast, if they announced the Nexus at the same time. Not to mention the Pixel, which was also announced. As for Apple, they do the same thing. While the iPhone was available a week later, there are plenty of Apple fans because the iPad Pro, that was announced at the same time, is still not released, 2 months later.

Im in Vancouver Canada as well and i ordered my 64GB Frost on the day of the release with receive days from Nov 3-10. Mines is still pending with it expected to be leaving from warehouse on the 30th.

I talked to Google and they say it can take about 3-5 days shipping with Fedex, but who knows if the rep knows anything.

Not sure how to check that. My card has a pending charge and my order says preordered on Google Play with a delivery timeframe of 2-3 weeks. Hope the 2-3 weeks is just a standard reply to preorders.

I know people that waited 6+ weeks for their iPhone 6+ to ship, ordered directly from Apple. So it is an issue that is hardly unique to Google.

Google could have waited until they already had sufficient stock of the phones to ship the first of them the day that they announced it. However when they announce things is a marketing decision, and I'm sure there were reasons for deciding when they would make the announcement. They were very open and up front about when they would be shipping the phones, so it isn't like they were deceiving anyone.

I understand what your saying but, from my experience with ordering from Apple; if you get up and order when things go live, you will get your phone pretty soon. The people who wait an hour or two, and especially a few days after launch are the ones that see those type of wait times. So while I agree that the issue is not unique to Google, I don't think it directly compares to Apple.

I understand the frustration, so I'm not going to criticize anyone. It doesn't really bother me, I guess I'm used to it now. I just keep watching videos and reviews of the phone, and have fun reading people getting their shipping notifications.

I've bought all the Nexus phones, and the absolute worst experience for me was the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I won't talk about it any further. All my other Nexus orders I was always fast and lucky enough to snatch one before things got crazy.

My company subscribes to Delivery Manager and they had the option highlighted for me. I clicked on it and got the confirmation email that it was ready for pick up. Guess I lucked out. Charging it now.
Pics, or didn't happen (trying to live vicariously as I await mine 😢).

I was a day one adopter of the Verizon Gnex and it was my first and only other Nexus because F Verizon. Discovered Rooting and ROMing on that phone. If only the battery was better...

I ordered mid October. From Huawei, should be here end of next week or beging of November. Can't wait. Is anyone getting a shipped notice from Huawei?

I also ordered from Huawei and have yet to receive any notice about it shipping. I ordered my 64GB aluminium Nexus 6P on October 8th. When I ordered it, it said I should receive it early November.

This is the first time ever the wait time for a new phone is killing me. I keep checking my email every 2 or 3 hours, hahaha.

I order from their site on Oct -11. I just called this past Friday they only say first week of November. Graphite 64gb
