WOW! I can't wait to use this on the EVO I'm inheriting from my dad when he gets the 3D. It'll be a big step up from my rooted Optimus.

Ok, I'm having some trouble. I have followed the instructions on the XDA website except that when I tried to flash "KingMODSFORMAT" it didn't work so I went ahead and flashed the rom. It rebooted, I got the custom boot screen and it came to the lock screen. I slid the circle up and got a FC on Setup. Pulled battery and rebooted but now I'm stuck at the custom boot screen animation with that thing spinning. Any ideas??

Anyone?? I re-wiped and all and then reflashed but it still wouldn't flash the MODFORMAT and then it gave me a FC when I tired to unlock the screen.

I would love to try this out, but i am completely new to rooting and all this stuff. MY evo 4g is running stock sense and the latest official ota update to gingerbread. is it possible to do this on my phone? And if so, can someone please direct me to instructions that would be suitable for a beginner??? Thanks so much, I appreciate it!

Would love to know too. I was rooted with Unrevoked 3 before I had to send my phone back to Sprint and now I have a replacement and would love to do this. I have not updated to Gingerbread but I am not rooted yet. Any advice.

What recovery are you using? If your using Amon_RA do this. If not, just download ROM Manger from the market and select flash alternate recovery. It'll flash it for you. Anyway....make sure to place the format zip and the ROM zip on the root of the SD card. Choose to install it and let it do its thing. After its done, go the wipe menu from the main menu while still inside recovery and manually wipe Data, Dalvik, Cache, System, Boot and Battery Stats. Next, once everything has been wipe cleaned, choose to install the ROM just like normal. Let it do its thing and reboot the system after it finishes. It'll take a little bit for to fully boot up. It actually rebooted on me twice before it came up and was ready for me to log in to the phone. Hope that helped.

I had to chime in on this. I follows this from the front page and I am an EVO 3D user. We also have the issue where after a reboot, the icon for the apps on my sd card also go to the generic icon. The fastest way to fix it is to change your skin and then change it back.

the new virus, alliance, king, etc. are all like the synergy rom. They are all working together on it. That's what all these roms are based off of right?

Sadly, ROOT has not be gained on the new OTA as far as I know. However there are rooted versions of the ROM, but rooting on a device with the official update applied is not possible right now. :-(

There is only one issue that I have with the ROM right now (and I didn't notice the spelling, I guess). The issue is that for apps I've moved to SD, after a reboot, their homescreen icons turn to the generic green icon. You can delete them and put them back if it bothers you, because they still work. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Interesting, because that is a very well known bug on the Evo 3D...

Unfortunately, I did update... Damn!!! How is the evo 3d already rooted and not this update??? O well. Does anyone have any guesses as to when this will be doable, just based on previous OTA updates???

I'm suffering a variety of forced closes. I'll have to figure it out later.

A double wipe and not using TB to restore data resolved the FCs. This ROM is impressive!

I'm not sure what recovery I'm using but I don't think it's Amon_RA. I originally rooted with Unrevoked so I could tether but this is the first custom ROM I have tried to flash.

So I need to make sure I have KingsMODformat zip and AllianceROM 7.4S on my SD card then download ROM Manager and select flash alternate? You said "make sure to place the format zip and the ROM zip on the root of the SD card. Choose to install it and let it do its thing." I'm assuming you mean install the FORMAT first (although it keeps saying it failed when I try flashing)?

Then root now dude - you can always download the rooted GB update and it will be exactly like my unrooted official OTA GB... ...only you'll be rooted.

If you accept the recent OTAs, you won't be able to root until somebody figures it out. I really thought it would have been done by now.

I dont see how this would turn anyone's OG Evo into the 3D even in the slightest.. In no way can it EVER compete with the 3D.. It is just physically impossible.

1) Evo is single core
2) Evo clock speed is slower than 3D even without the dual core
3) 3D has just that, a 3D screen
4) Evo has **** memory compared to 3D
5) 3D has more internal storage than OG Evo.
6 (and i'm not 100% sure) Evo does not have DLNA support
7) 3D has the qHD display

Simply adding a ROM, an EVO 3D it does not make.
(hopefully people will know the reference XD)

First of all, I wanna say that this ROM does look pretty good.

HOWEVER, I have issues installing stuff where the dev can't spell half the words right in the ROM notes. If he can't QA his own spelling, it sure doesn't instill a lot of confidence for how good and stable the ROM is.

There is also no mention as to whether 4G works. That's a biggie. Even in your post above, I thought you were going to settle it for me, but you said "Improved 3D data speeds" - don't you mean 3G?

I don't mean to flame - I'm just REAL big on polish.

LOL! Hey @ least you can't say he didn't try hard to make you think the EVO could do sense3, the sense3 doesn't even run as smooth on the sensation as it Dora on the EVO3D,so imagine how it would run on a 1ghz CPU with only 512mb RAM. Sense3 uses about 400 mbs RAM to start off & three sensation uses 768mb or something like that & It's blowout as smooth as the 1gb raw RAM that EVO3 has..so don't listen to him.
