I can definitely tell the difference. Really stupid noob question- how do I know if I have the Stable Non-Voodoo Kernel? Like how can I check? lol. I mean I'm sure I installed it but how would I know?

Thanks guys, it works. Everything is much smoother now. The only thing I really could say I miss is the stock music player during a lock screen. Other than that i'm loving it so far.

When I rebooted my phone just now, I noticed a different boot animation on this ROM. I like it, though I miss my Galaxy S one a little.

Thanks for all the help guys, now if I want to install a stable non-voodoo kernel how would I do that using CWM Rom? And what's the best kernel?

I flashed the ROM, everything seemed to work okay. Just wanted to know what the features of this ROM really are? And, it seemed to get rid of the boot up sound, which I liked. Any way to get that back?

Basically what the name implies, he got rid of all the bloat, even TW launcher. Even the boot up sound as you've noticed It's probably a little quicker than stock.

It's deodex'd so you can probably run some themes, but someone else is going to have to expand on that, I'm totally clueless. I just noticed this awesome theme on XDA that said "deodex only" I want that black status bar with the battery percentage!

yes, it's deodexed, so you can run themes, pretty much all the verizon bloat is gone (tw is still there as dropping it causes sync issues or something)

if you want the boot up sound, make an audio file called "PowerOn.wav" and place it in /system/etc iirc

as for installing the kernel, just do it the same way as the rom, but don't wipe data/cache (backup is up to you)

Nah I don't need the sound that badly. I'd love to use a theme like the one you mentioned, but idk how to do it.

I installed via CWM tonight. Installed the non-voodoo kernel as well. I did not wipe data.

I was surprised to see a few apps and I know I will have to add a few back. Finally got the updated Market which is nice. I did notice that the gallery app does not support gifs which the stock gallery did. I do remember the gallery on my D1 did not either. Is the Fascinate gallery different?

I want to install a theme, but unsure if they'd work with this ROM and really how to do it.

The themes I have done on my previous phone were just zip files that you would load in CWM. Usually very easy. You just have to make sure it does not interfere with the rom. We seem to be getting more options for the fascinate lately
